Man, we almost pulled off a miracle win. Sucks because we really needed that one to make a NCAA tourney run.

I still think we have a shot to win all of our next four games.

Howell's injury really hurt us today he would have made a huge difference on the glass. Also, Tracy and CJL looked dead tired at the end of the game because they had to go too many minutes consecutively.

I think at this point we need to try Lo Brown at the point and leave Harrow out of the game a little more. He's really killing us defensively (Stoglin 26 pts?!) and he just kinda sucks on offense. His playmaking is almost there but his shots were so off that Maryland was getting fast breaks off his misses.

Javi played pretty solidly again for most of the game until the very end where he took two bad shots.

I feel like our best lineup is Brown, CJW, Wood, Leslie, Tracy right now. We really don't lose anything offensively, and we're much better defensively.

Maryland is a legit top 20 team and they'll prove that over the rest of the season.

We were on the road and were 10.5 pt underdogs and took them to the wire.

If Harrow was ACC ready we win that game.


I dont think you can blame Lowe for Harrow being so woefully unprepared for the ACC this season. He's going to be a great PG eventually.

I just wanted to pop in here and remind people that Herb in his first five years was the exact same result wise as sidney. Then the next 5 years are what everyone brings up. Can Sidney even get those 5 years?! wtf

oh geez get off it... herbs teams were coached well though. the way sids kids give up and look lost out there half the time is unacceptable

and the acc sidney has been coaching in is FAR FAR worse than herbs first five years

^^ simonn i expect better... those games were "exceptions" where for sidney they are the norm... i didnt like herb either, but those games are easier to look past when i see a 21-6 record next to the team name on the box score

I just hope that one day we'll look back on our last three coaches and just thank them for what they did for NC State basketball:

Les: Thanks for getting the program back to respectability in terms of academics and discipline. No coach would have been able to succeed with the restrictions you were given, but you were admirable and you were able to beat UNC quite often.

Herb: Thanks for getting the program back to basketball relevance. For five years the NCAA tourney meant a lot more because I had to make two brackets...one where I NC State went farther than they should and one where I could possibly win the pool. And thanks for bringing Julius Hodge and Anthony Grundy to NC State. Two of my favorite Wolfpack players.

Lowe: Thanks of course for the '83 Championships. Also thank you for bringing in Harrow, Brown, and Leslie. Hopefully they will be the building blocks for the next coach.

I'm actually tired of hearing this. Sid wanted the job badly and has been paid a nice amount of money to perform. I feel bad that he's not doing well, but there's no "thanking him for taking the job"...the man wanted it!

I guess I owe it to some of you guys to explain where I'm coming from, just so you know (not like you probably really care anyways however). Games like these are why I'm so jaded and maybe sometimes over the top. I think I'm just too fucking emotional to be dealt these blows like this. It sucks for the players, the coach, and the fans. But tonight. Tonight is the reason why I've been ready to move on to new era of NC State basketball.
