sounds like no one wants to address the issue i wish i could just use chrome but some stuff still doesnt work right in chrome, & firefox's flash video always has problems so IE is a necessity 1/13/2010 2:35:51 AM |

Try running a few good malware removal tools -- the ones you listed are basically crap.

Since you can't get rid of IE ... may I then suggest that you don't hit that F1 button for help anymore?
Such an appropriate title, haha

The only thing that doesn't work right in any browser other than IE is Outlook Web Access...and thats because Microsoft intentionally gimped OWA in all browsers except IE and require you to use IE to do any tasks other than read email.

IE is the only good browser except for maybe opera. everything else is shit and if you think web "development" is the future you are shit. 3/3/2010 12:42:50 PM |

I can vouch for legitimate cases where IE6/7/8 has to work, even if Firefox, Chrome, Opera whatever are available as alternatives.
The only thing I can think of is a proxy configuration setup in IE that's not setup in Firefox or Chrome. Either that or malware, but with ms defender running, that's less likely the case. 3/3/2010 5:28:18 PM |

Firefox + IE Tab's addin = problem solved.

Lafta, do you have Google Toolbar (or any of the other 3rd party toolbars for IE for that matter)?
I used to have a problem where my IE on my work computer wouldn't open sometimes and would just sit silently in the background (sometimes took 4-5 clicks to get one to stick). After uninstalling Google Toolbar, it was fine.
Ok, so maybe its not the exact same problem, but its similar enough (problems initially loading the Window) to warrant a look. 3/4/2010 11:53:31 AM |
