If you don't want to read the justification, skip to the question at the bottom:
In August, I bought a 2006 chrysler sebring touring convertible that has all sorts of ammenities; heated seats, digital climate control, automatic tinting rear view mirrors, built in GPS, 6 CD changer, power seat, a digital display that shows stuff like direction and outside temp and current mpg and distance to empty, etc...
However, it didn't come with a key fob for remote entry to the car. I didn't mind much or think about it at the time, but I've become frustrated by the fact that there is no key hole on the passenger side door to my car. I've been looking at OTHER 2006 chrysler sebring tourings on the internet, and they seem to all have keyless entry.
Question: How do I check to see if my car came equipped with remote entry, so I can possibly order a new fob from chrysler? 1/14/2010 2:45:28 PM |

Some cars arent that hard to program.
I remember on a grand cherokee my mom had you had to do something like put it in neutral with the left door open and hold down the keyless entry buttons while pushing in the break or something ridiculous like this.
actually I just found this, its for a 2004 but just shows you can do it yourself.
Quote : | "Q: How do you program a 2004 chrysler sebring keyless entry? A: The following works for the 2004 - Chrysler Sebring/Concorde/LHS/300/Voyager/Town & Country, Dodge Stratus/Intrepid/Caravan/Durango/Dakota/Ram 1500, Prowler, Jeep Liberty Program Method
1. Press (LOCK) button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resynchronize transmitter. Attempt to function transmitter, if working as designed discontinue programming.
2. Turn ignition to run position. (Allow ignition chimes[UNLOCK] to stop).
3. Using any original (working) transmitter, press the [UNLOCK] button for 4 to 10 seconds.
4. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue pressing the [UNLOCK] button and press the [PANIC] button for 1 second and release both buttons. A chime will sound to indicate that the transmitter programming mode has been entered (allow 3 seconds for chime to sound).
5. Press [LOCK] and [UNLOCK] buttons simultaneously for 1 second and release.
6. Press and release any button on the same transmitter and a chime will sound after successfully programming the transmitter.
7. Repeat steps 5 through 6 to program additional transmitters.
8. Turn ignition to OFF position. Transmitter programming mode will discontinue after 60 seconds. (All transmitter programming must be completed within time specified)." |

Guys at the dealership said they couldn't get the key programmed. "PCM module not supported" or something like that. Maybe "not compatible?"
The guy said by the time they figured out what the hell was wrong, it cost less to just get an after market fob. I'ma google it, any thoughts TWW?
