I am currently enrolled in the Non-Degree Studies program. What is the deadline to go full-time for Fall 2010?
Is it the same as normal students?
Do I have to fill out some specific form?
Bah, I can't find anything on NC State's website. 1/16/2010 12:17:57 AM |

I'm an on and off PBS (NDS, but already have a degree) student. I've talked to people about transferring into a masters program, and it had to be done at the time that they're excepting applications for that program. Which if the semester has already started... it's not happening.
Could be different if you're talking about moving into an undergrad program.
Now that I think about it, the nds application is different from the degree seeking application. You may be required to reapply as a degree seeking student. Which means you would have to do so while the university is accepting applications. Again, I'm just going off what I do know... which is nothing official.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm referring to Fall 2010 Undergraduate. I'm currently taking a course this semester as NDS.

Ahh, i didn't notice you said Fall. I think you should have at least until Feb 1st. See below.
http://www.ncsu.edu/nds/about/index.html
That specifically says that admission to nds does not imply admission to a degree program. Plus, Undergraduate Admissions and NDS Admissions are two different groups on campus. So, I suspect you'll have to formally apply as an undergrad for the fall semester and that it's the same deadline as a regular student or maybe a transfer student (that would be weird, but it's more comparable to that imo). Which is Feb 1st and Apr 1st, respectively. Of course, if you were previously an undergrad at ncsu... you may need to submit an application for readmission instead.

I've applied as a freshman, then twice for readmission after taking time off, and again as a PBS student... they have a different application for everything. But in your case, I think it really comes down to the idea that the selection process for NDS students isn't the same as for degree seeking. And, going from NDS to degree seeking isn't as simple as matriculating... you haven't gone through the same admissions process as degree seekers.
undergrad_admissions@ncsu.edu - probably the best way to get a legitimate answer (that or call them on tuesday). 1/16/2010 4:11:50 AM |

Duro982 is right. You have to either apply as a Freshman or Transfer student like everyone else. You being an NDS has no weight or special privileges towards acceptance at NCSU. 1/16/2010 9:04:02 AM |
