Yeah...they pretty much always throw a caution near the end to bunch the field for a green white checker, and when they do this at Daytona or Talladega this almost always results in a wreck.

NASCAR is so much bullshit these days I hardly watch it...and I used to be hardcore.

Anybody watching the Nationwide Series race today? I haven't followed any races up until now, but wow in the 10 minutes I have watched, they have mentioned Danica 10+ times. A wreck happened in front of her, she drove straight, and they were all about the great job she did to avoid that wreck.

Somebody who knows about nascar explain to me why all of those people took pit stops with 5 laps left under caution. More specifically, Kurt Busch was in 3rd place, took a pit stop and came back out in 19th...never to sniff the front again. Boy, I bet he is glad he got those "fresh tires" to finish back in the pack!

i dont really know Miami, but sometimes they'll gamble on not pitting earlier, assuming they'll have enough fuel, then they'll get a couple wrecks, have to run a lot more laps under caution, and have to refuel...lots of luck and guessing about how things play out i guess

For what it's worth, Jr came in and got 2 tires. He went from about 17th to 2nd as a result. You get a little more grip, and a little more speed. Plus, some of those guys were on fumes at the end.

I went to the Bud Shootout/500 Qualfying/ARCA race and the Daytona 500. Both events were awesome except for the two pot hole delays. A similar deal happened when I went to the Coke 600 in 2005 and I also got to experience the two days of rain "fun" in 2009 at the 600. So I am used to delays at the track. I wish I had also gone to the Duels since Kahne won one of those by a few inches but could not miss my partnership tax class.

Anyone going to any races this season? Along with those two I am planning to go to the Southern 500, Coke 600, Coke Zero 400, and the September Atlanta race. I really want to go to Martinsville, Richmond, Talladega, and Bristol but will have to wait until I'm finally done with school in 2011 to make those trips.

If anyone is looking to go to Atlanta, the Atlanta spring race is 20 dollars for all turn 3 seating for students. We did that last September and no one even checked to see if we were students.
