With Free Agency starting on March 5 I figured that this would be a good thread to make

As of now the three biggest names (not best players) available will be Ladainian, Brian Westbrook, and Julius Peppers.

Lot of defensive lineman seem to be getting franchised:

Wilfork already tagged
Casey Hampton NT Steelers, Aubrayo Franklin NT 49ers, and Richard Seymour DE Raiders are expected to be tagged before Thursday's deadline.

not that good?

its just because he has concussion issues

otherwise he is still one of the top 10 in the league in my opinion.

Jets are set to release Jones because they didnt want to pay him the 3 mil he was due when he helped created the top rushing offense in the league at a pay of 900k.

Bears cut Orlando Pace

Arizona might release Antrel Rolle

Taylor Mays just ran an unofficial 4.24 40 in the combine.

I hope the Giants are paying attention!

Gary Brackett re-signs with the Colts, Brandon Manumaleuna (sp?) signs with the Bears.

Schefter reporting both Chester Taylor and Julius Peppers are expected to sign deals with the Bears later today

[Edited on March 5, 2010 at 10:09 AM. Reason : Nate Burleson 5 yr $25 million with Detroit]

Damn...Bears making a lot of moves. Lovie trying to save his job next year!!

Chargers will miss that TE more than Cromartie and LT combined.

Ha...just read this about Cromartie on cnnsi.com:

Quote :
"San Diego also had grown tired of Cromartie's maturity issues, with the former Florida State product fathering seven children by five different women.

^Ironic isn't it?

I don't see why anyone would want to pay that much for him. His play simply has not earned that lately. He had a better year this past season, but he's still one of the most overpaid and overrated in the league.

if the bears can get ONE solid WR in free agency I think they'll tack on enough additional wins to make the playoffs next year

Their defense is old as shit, and they still don't have a cornerback who's worth a damn. But if Flacco can stay healthy and they run the ball like last year, then yeah, they could be better.

I expect a drop-off in play from Lewis and Reed, though. That fuckin HGH only turns back the clock for so long.
