i am going absolutely out of my mind trying to learn this. i had an acquaintance (not a stranger) design a website, he handed it over to me as completed and i'm just trying to make LITTLE changes myself.

here's what's killing me right now: if i make one change at the very top like turn something bold, some button at the very bottom goes missing, wtf!

can anyone help me through pm, not looking to do it out in the open itt

are you editing a Page or Post from inside the Wordpress dashboard, or are you trying to edit a template?

how are you bolding the word? Are you just using the visual editor, highlighting a word, and using the toolbar? Have you looked in the HTML editor and seen that whatever tags you're inserting are being properly ended after your selected text?

What do you mean "some button at the bottom" goes missing? what button? A button in the dashboard, or something on your page?
