my 88 Rx-7: I haven't really had that many passengers in it, but after I boost it they usually just get quiet. Or if they happen to be Quinn, they complain about the fumes

A few come to mind...

Girl freaking out when I took "Caution 25MPH" curve at ~60 in the S2000. I felt confident until I saw an oncoming car which made me sweat a little. It held like glue although there wasn't a whole lot of stick left. I'm pretty sure I would have oversteered if I let off the gas.

45ish year old coworker gripping the armrest and yelling "slow down" as I trail braked into the off ramp from 40E onto the Durham Freeway.

Friend freaking out when we blew past a deer on the side of the road at 140ish in the old Saab (I was trying to hit the 143 MPH limiter.) This one admittedly scared me too.

The best might have been my mom grabbing the eBrake in the S2000 as if it were a grab handle when she got scared and me reprimanding her. Complete role reversal, lol.

In my K5 on 44's it was mixed, some loved it, others were scared for their life.

A good friend has an A4 1.8 Turbo pushing past 400whp... my first time in it i was wasted and nearly puked in his car barely got out in time. We picked up a friend of mine that knows nothing about cars nor has she ever been in a fast one before... He went slow and didnt show off till the on ramp for I40... the girl asked if we could pull into some where with a restroom, she had pissed her self

mx3 - I get a "meh" from everyone

IS250 - "ooooh, NIIIIICCCCEEEEEEE."

944 - one Friends screams like a school girl, each an every time. He also says, "omg, we're going to die!" constantly... Big grin on the face... The wife giggles a lot. She likes to say "Punch that shit! GO GO GO!!!" Everyone else either screams like a school girl or are wow'd by the amount of torque the car has. Usually when I got WOT, the car gets louder and the passengers get quieter.

they do. I think it has to do with the very high overlap between intake and exhaust strokes and resulting HC emissions.

Haven't given rides to many people in my Volvo S60, but almost every time we go out, my wife asks me to slow down, especially around curves and corners, and says she is feeling sick.

with the S2000 I've had friends make fun of me for driving "a Miata" ( ) and then after they've had a ride in it they talk about how great it handles.

for the Integra I've had one person (shmorri2) comment on how well it handled, as well as the exhaust note being nice, haha). Overall though, people ask why I still own that "piece of junk".

As long as people are in the front seat of my cherokee, it's usually "this is a nice car." I get comments about the stereo system as well (just a basic aftermarket sound system with upgraded 5.25" speakers and a touchscreen clarion head unit that i got for $cheap).

Much of the "nice car" part comes from the fact that I don't get my car too trashy (a lot of people just throw shit in the back seat, I throw it in the front and trash it within a week, usually).

Well... I did do 100mph+ on a small road here in Raleigh. My g/f wanted to get out of the car and I had a red light ahead (T intersection). I could see down the other road and saw no one coming (3AM), so I blew threw the red light because I knew if I stopped she'd get out...

She wanted me to keep driving after I stopped outside of her house. Complete reversal... haha



I've never had anyone want to get out of the car and leave because of the car or the driving.
