I decided to give this show a chance (since 30 rock wasn't on tonight I needed my Tina Fey fix)
but I am not impressed so far 3/4/2010 10:11:58 PM |

I turned it off at 10:09... I figured it was following my favorite 1.5 hour block of TV out there so I'd give it a chance... but nope. Not even Jerry Seinfeld and Tina Fey can save that hour of ass. 3/4/2010 10:13:22 PM |

Tina is doing pretty well, but the Ref himself sucks. Seinfeld is incredibly disappointing, especially since this show was his idea, and I wasn't expecting much out of Eva Longoria anyway.
I will watch again just to see Alec Baldwin, but the whole concept is a bad one and Jerry Seinfeld should be ashamed of himself. Larry David needs to come in and stick his foot up someone's ass. 3/4/2010 10:20:51 PM |

I'd laugh more if Evan Longoria was on it. He is pretty funny in those 2K commercials. 3/4/2010 10:23:38 PM |

The commercials for this show were enough for me to want to change the channel as quickly as possible. Can't believe people actually sat down to watch it, especially after the commercials. They had to know what they were getting themselves into.

I don't understand why they think promos of people laughing are supposed to make people want to watch the show. 3/5/2010 11:12:30 AM |

i would rather see Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Larry David, and Ricky Gervais talk about world issues than marriage issues. it would kind of be like daily show meets the view. 3/5/2010 6:35:37 PM |

If Tina Fey were doing a Dealbreakers-style bit on this show, it might actually become watchable. 3/6/2010 1:21:06 AM |

Seinfeld was on the Daily Show tonight to promote Marriage Ref...his enthusiasm for it sounds really fake. But the clip they showed with Larry David for this week was pretty funny, so I will at least watch it one more time. 3/11/2010 1:54:11 AM |

Here's how I'm sure this abortion came about:
Quote : | "Oh, shit, we just lost Conan. We need to fill up some time. Who do we know who has done things in the past that made a lot of money? What about Jerry Seinfeld? Oh, ok. Cut him a big fat check. Tell him the show has to follow the asinine trend of reality television alla American Idol. Yeah, we need judges. I don't give a fuck if it's a hamster dance competition, we need judges to compete with FOX. FOX has judges. If we have judges we'll obviously get good ratings, right? I mean Jerry Seinfeld's gonna produce it. That automatically means good ratings, right? Tell him we start production tomorrow. That's enough time, right?" |

^If that's the case it's too bad Wheel of Fortune is syndicated. Otherwise immediately following WoF would be the perfect broadcasting time slot. 3/11/2010 7:43:26 AM |

uhh.... who the hell is the Ref guy, and what makes him think that he can take over the camera and start cracking jokes when he has Larry David and Ricky fucking Gervais sitting next to him? 3/12/2010 12:25:57 AM |
