I will be in Vegas. That might be the best place to be that weekend other than Augusta.

last year was my first masters - for a lifelong golfer it was a religious experience. you really can't appreciate the difficulty of that course until you see it in person. It's amazing how huge the hills are there. I would say that the club house is probably 100 to 200 ft above the lowest point of the course (no. 13 green) at least (maybe more).

I think the tradition does come from playing the same course every year, but it's more than that. 90% of the same fans are there, the same tournament officials are there (plus other members), the past living champions can play for life plus they have the champions dinner the week of the tournament. It's an awesome experience. I plan on going as often as I can in the future. Couldn't go this year because my sister is expecting a child that week.

I would like to see Paddy or Els win one but i'll probably be rooting for Mickelson and Geoff Ogilvy as well.

I've been lucky enough to go to the Masters numerous times as my Dad used to get tickets through work when I was growing up. MrLuvaLuva described it well. The grounds are absolutely immaculate and it's almost unreal how perfect every last detail of the course is manicured. The ground the gallery walks on is better than most fairways on public courses.

If anyone is going this year, you have to have to get a special pass to sit in the grand stands behind #12 at Amen corner, but if you can it's worth it. You can see the guys play down #11, all of #12, and then tee off #13. That, and sitting in foldable chairs on the other side of the water #16 are the best spots to see a ton of golf without moving.

The food in the tents is ridiculously cheap and awesome as well. I could nom on one of those chicken sandwiches right now.

pimiento cheese sandwich or chicken sandwich or bbq sandwich and a coke for like 3 bucks or a beer for like 1.50 is also very cool

also i don't think there was a single piece of grass on that course that was not manicured (except where press towers/etc were). it is the most perfectly in shape course i've seen besides no. 2 in pinehurst.

Well, it's springtime in the valley on Magnolia Lane
It's the Augusta National and the master of the game
Who'll wear that green coat on Sunday afternoon?
Who'll walk the 18th fairway singing this tune?
Augusta, your dogwoods and pines
They play on my mind like a song
Augusta, it's you that I love
And it's you that I'll miss when I'm gone.
It's Watson, Byron Nelson, Demaret, Player and Snead
It's Amen Corner and it's Hogan's perfect swing
It's Sarazen's double eagle at the 15 in '35
And the spirit of Clifford Roberts that keeps it alive
Augusta, your dogwoods and pines
They play on my mind like a song
Augusta, it's you that I love
And it's you that I miss when I'm gone.
It's the legions of Arnie's Army and the Golden Bear's throngs
And the wooden-shafted legend of Bobby Jones

After watching those tiger interviews, I would be stunned if he even makes the cut. He looks emotionally drained to compete at that level.

That said, go Paddy!

Went to final round last year for the first time. Mine came from the Mayor of Augusta. The playoff was amazing, as was being so close to Tiger Woods. I'm around Members of Congress all day, and it doesn't really even faze me, but I understand "starstruck" now. Just being within spitting distance of one of the greatest golfers to ever play the game was something else. Also I will be wishing I was eating an Augusta National chicken salad sandwich this weekend.

hope you're kidding...all they do is tee off..they don't actually play. it's like an opening ceremony

and i'd be willing to bet Jack could at least shoot 75 (on a good day obviously, that place is long)

the best days at work for me every year are the thursday and friday of the ACC tournament, the first thurs and fri of the ncaa tourney, and the thurs and fri of masters weekend. I log onto masters.com and have the play-by-play and video feed streaming in the background all day while I do work.

interesting question on The Dan Patrick Show this morning:

Would you want to be paired with Tiger on day 1 of the Masters or would you want to be as far away from his group as possible?

I guess the benefit would be exposure, tv time, etc., but in my opinion, that would be greatly outweighed by the distraction that would follow. If I'm a professional golfer, I want to score well and win the Masters, meaning focus and concentration are paramount. So, if it were up to me, I'd want to be as far away as possible.

some ad exec estimated that the television exposure you'd receive by playing with Tiger on day 1 is equal to around $1.3M

CBSSports.com and Masters.com plan to run 86 hours of live online video for next week's Masters tournament, a 50% increase from a year ago, and site execs expect a large spike in traffic due in part to the strong likelihood of Tiger Woods playing part or perhaps much of his Thursday and Friday rounds during business hours, when access to TVs is more limited.

Traditional online coverage featuring play from holes 11-13, 15-16 and an hour of coverage each day before TV broadcasts from Augusta National Golf Club begin will be joined this year by a "Featured Group" element. The new feature will take pairings of Augusta National's choosing following this Tuesday's draw, and follow them live through the back nine of the course. ESPN will air Woods' first tee shot on Thursday, but otherwise, live TV coverage does not begin until 4:00pm ET those two days. The Masters Live coverage of Amen Corner will begin at 10:45am Thursday and Friday coverage of the 15th and 16th holes at 11:45am and the featured group at noon.
