hell...any high school team with decent size would beat a WNBA all-star team 9/10 times

this topic is dumb, the topics you mention are dumb

it is comparing apples to vastly superior, in another league apples

admittedly some people are going over the top with hyperbole

but i mean, the only real question about whether a good HS team would beat them is how tight the ref's call the game. if they are really tight, i'm talking super tight, with the fouls, some of the strength advantage might get taken away. but it would still prob be pretty uneven in favor of the men.

so if this convo is now "hs men's team vs UConn's womens team" than ill play ball

i'm not sure the blocks/dunks would be as bad as you think. uconn women are basically shorter, weaker, slower men that play the game at a very high level. i think you are underestimating their fundamentals. i think the women would be in far more danger of blow by drives than fast breaks. i think fast breaks imply turnovers and not getting back and i'm not sure the uconn women would have that many turnovers and i also think they would be able to get open shots on the perimeter. men's teams that are less talented physically can occasionally win through fundamentals; see Princeton, Cornell. I think the UConn women would be able to run their offense and move the ball far far better than a above average high school team could run their D. That said, i think the physical diff's would be much more obvious when the women are on D.

Lets be real here. Theres not a serious post in this thread so heres one.

Ncstate would win but the margin would depend on how well javi and farnold played. I'd say around 25 to 30 but if Uconn got hot with outside shooting it could be within 20 on a good night.

Against a top notch high school team with at least 3 d1 players the high school team would win by about 10.

Against the rest of high school teams it would be a tossup. They would probably beat 95% of all varsity high school teams easily. Just the teams with big time size and speed would give them trouble.

WNBA all star team would be 99% of high school teams. Only the ones with multiple d1(future) players would give them trouble. The teams with size and speed would keep it close but they would blow out most high school teams.

I don't think anyone in this thread has actually played against wnba caliber women. Wnba players are bigger than most guys. In south beach shaq, wade, bell, and several wnba benchwarms often come out and play with the streetballers. The girls are the best non-nba players ever out there. Many of the players are former d2 mens college players who werent standouts or antyhing but some started and they don't standout from the average street players but the wnba players are TALL and shoot with incredible precision. It takes extreme height and athleticism from a man to be able to overcome

Anytime a wnba player gets in a 5 on 5 game with all non-nba men, you can just assume that team will win even though the wnba players are going like 75% in pickup games. The talent is just too dominant to overcome.

You guys are under the assumption that

manliness trumps athleticism and skill but thats wrong

Manliness trumps feminism but

athleticsm and skill+feminism will trump non athleticism+manliness ANY DAY


Just like tennis. I doubt any non-pro male could defeat sarena

being a male makes you better than being a female

but being athletic and skilled is much more important than simply being a male.

wnba players make up for being a woman with extreme skill and athleticism. It takes a male with very high skill and athleticism to be better than them

nadal would beat williams but a random high school player would get ran off the court by sarena.
