In light of theDuke’s other thread asking about reasonable Republicans, it looks like their will be none if they keep paring away dissenting voices to keep the nuts pouring in the money.

Frum was just at NCSU about 2 weeks ago giving a talk hosted by the Pope Foundation called “Modern Conservatism” from what I recall.

He's getting the credit. "Bush did it too" isn't an acceptable excuse to continue destroying the economy, though. We should look at the Bush administration as an example of what not to do. Obama would probably argue that because Bush drove the economy into the ground, he is now forced to continue the same mistakes. I just don't buy it.

^ Obama is going a different direction that Bush. The Bank Bailout is the exception, but Bush focused on corporate welfare, Obama is focusing on the general welfare.

We won't know the real effects of these policies for a year or 2, I don't think.
