When I try to open word documents on the hard drive just by double clicking on them, MS Word opens but the document does not. So I get a blank MS Word. I can then click File, Open, and find the file and open it with no problem. I have looked on the web and have tried the unregister/register command to fix the glitch but that didnt work. The file association is set correctly. I am at my wits end with this bullshit. Any suggestions?

I had this issue last night but with EXE files. It was a registry issue.
