Been a long time fan of his other cooking shows (no homo) and have recently started getting caught up on this one via Hulu.

The idea behind the show, or his idea for a food revolution is LONG overdue, and very sad that its taking an outsider to come to the US to say "YOU'RE KILLING YOURSELVES". Obviously americans are dumb and eat like there's no tomorrow.

The first couple people he encounters on the show, (radio host, lunch ladies, etc) just piss me off with their close-mindedness and unwillingness to listen to reason. Being that it is a network show, Im sure as the season progresses some reasonable level of change is sure to come about. But the first two episodes have really shown how...dumb we (americans in general) have become about the food we are putting into our bodies.

Anyone else watching this? Thoughts?

The show is ten times more effective because it's a British chef telling American's they need to work on their cooking.

What a slap in the face.

The UK has a very high obesity rate as well. Not saying that we don't, but if they make a big deal about him coming over to teach Americans how to eat, he could have saved himself a flight and done it at home.

I'm of course assuming there is a market in the UK for tv shows about being healthy which can be viewed from the comfort of your couch with a bag of cheese doodles in hand, like there is in America.

i think it's a great show. i was absolutely amazed and disgusted that that class of elementary school kids couldn't identify one vegetable in its raw state. not even tomatoes or potatoes!!!!

that radio guy pisses me off. he's coming around now though.

techincally a potato and a tomato aren't vegetables

A potato is a starch and a tomato is a fruit

I think we've learned from American Idol, America Has Talent, etc that any show in the US that has a British host has already been done in the UK.

^^^ On more than one occasion, Jamie has expressed his disgust that french fries are counted as a vegetable under the school nutritional guidelines, so he's well aware of this.
