eh... my biggest problem with the new google page is the font changes. I generally prefer things pretty small so i can fit more on the page. Now I feel like there is a lot more scrolling involved.

Their little 'gadget' additions are also starting to grow past their usefulness. Things like google searching wikipedia after you searched for wikipedia or a list of 15 popular links for websites (the one I think of is a radio station and they have "now playing" "listen now" etc.) Except when you click on 'listen now' it gives you a google search of the listen now page instead of the blame page.

Their video search, however, has been ruined lately. What happened to the play on this page feature. Now I have to hit 15 different websites to find a video - pretty effectively destroying the purpose for me using the system in the first place. I don't need a link aggregator, I need a video aggregator.

Agreed with OP.

Ugly, bloated-looking, cluttered, the "Gooooooogle" page count at the bottom is way too large and in a fatter font than most other Google logos (it looks blurred and stretched now, where it used to look sharp... almost like someone just scaled the size up in MS Paint). The search bars are larger and bolder than before, too. It's like they tried to make it more old-people accessible at the expense of everything else.

The sidebar is actually almost helpful on image searches (color filters and whatnot), but it needs to be hide-able. If you're not using those features, it is just getting in the way.

Yeah, the new google page is god awful. I'm not so sure these are really the smartest people in the world.

Serifs aren't such a bad thing, google. Nor are slight drop shadows so buttons are easy to spot.

I hate it as well. Don't use the bar, and something about the fonts or spacing changed in an undesirable way, but I can't remember exactly what.


Now it looks like bing or an ISP placeholder page.
