I'm glad he dropped the accent that made "Relapse" unbearable. I actually think Em might be getting back to his old ways with this one.

That "despicable" freestyle he dropped a couple of weeks ago is fucking fire too.

well, on "Not Afraid" he said Relapse was "ehh" and "perhaps I ran them accents into the ground"

Yeah Relapse was something strange. But this new album seems to be redeeming Em as the MC that he is. Looking fwd to hearing it and hoping he takes his title back.

Heres that freestyle Ribs was talking about for those who haven't heard it. "Get rowdy as Roethlisberger in a bathroom stall"

God I can only hope that bullshit he was doing on Relapse is over

the news of a new eminem album has gotten me bumping his first ever album - infinite.

if you have the chance to listen / bootleg it, i highly recommend it.

it's sorta weird to hear him as a struggling mc, as opposed to the worldwide phenomenon he is now.

at the very least, try and find the song "313" - it's fuckin fire.

Infinite is AWESOME. Probably listened to that album about 10 times as much as any other Eminem album. Stumbled across it a couple years ago.

hell yeah - it's raw as hell. eminem before his rage boiled over.

also i goofed on the song recommendation - check out the title track "infinite" if you can choose only one.

Listened through twice now, and he is as good lyrically on this album as he has ever been IMO. I need to read through the lyrics with the tracks because I'm sure I missed a lot, but damn, he went the fuck off.

I'm also feeling the overall arching theme of "Recovery". He had to get some shit off his chest without trying to drag the album into an emo state. You can tell he put a lot of time and thought into this album. He did a good job of tapping into the old Shady while still showing progression.

A few tracks that stand out initially are "Talking to Myself" where he admits he wanted to go at Weezy because he was jealous but knew he would get his "ass handed to him" as he put in the track. Also "Going through Changes", "No Love", and "Almost Famous".

gg Shady 8/10

He shits all over Relapse a couple of times throughout Recovery.

He basically dismisses it since he was pilled up and out of his mind.

EDIT:

So I pick up myself off the ground and fuckin slam before I drown
Hit my bottom so hard I bounce twice suffice this time around
It’s different them last two albums didn’t count
Encore I was on drugs, Relapse I was flushing em out
I’ve come up to make it up to you no more fucking around
I’ve got something to prove to fans I feel like I let em down
So please accept my apology I finally feel like I’m back to normal
Let me formally reintroduce myself to you for those of you who don’t know
The new me's back to the old me and homie I don’t show no
Signs of slowin up, pullin up, blowin up, all over no mo
My life is no longer a movie but the shows aint over homos
I’m back with a vengeance homie weezy keep ya head up
TI keep ya head up, Kanye keep ya head up
Don’t let up, keep slayin em
Rest in Peace to DJ AM
Cause I know what it’s like
I struggle with this shit every single day

I like the hooks in this album a lot, and the more I listen to it, the more I think it will have a lasting appeal.

Love the way you Life is a good tune, So Bad, Cold Wind Blows, and Almost Famous are the ones I like the best.

I dreamed the other night that I asked Em if he agreed that early leaks actually help artists by creating buzz and free publicity. He stabbed me and then I woke up.

Apple gave iTunes credit for Lala and I'll probably buy this on the 22nd with it.

this cd is crazy good. It shouldve been named "Rebirth" cause its like a brand new Eminem on this album, he definitely tapped into his old self while still showing progression (as someone said earlier). He didnt use a bunch of commercialized production and beats like in his last couple of albums, its got a grassroots sorta feel to it, where his lyrics carry the songs not the beat or hooks. And damn if he isnt at his lyrical peak right now, he got rid of that garbage accent and is flowing like the Shady we have wanted to hear since he came out of "retirement". Its like this album was his own personal therapy session where he was able to get a lot of stuff off of his chest.

the more I listen to the album, the more I like it, but I already have this one among his best albums, its amazing to me how the best rapper ever is still able to evolve and make himself better

I really like Em's part and the chorus of that song but there's just something about Lil Waynes part of that song comes close to ruining the whole thing.

I'm assuming he does it on purpose (maybe I'm giving him too much credit, I've never heard much of his other stuff) but the way he staggers his words and they way they are just sliiiightly off with the beat...it honestly causes me some sort of physical reaction. I've gone through the album 3 times now, and the last time I had to fast forward through Lil Waynes part, cause it was literally hurting my head.

This CD is just sick. A couple of the songs don't do it for me, but probably 2/3 are plain dirty. Wish he had used Dre's beats on a few more songs...that new sounding flow would be sick over some harder hitting beats. Still hit a home run though.

Not a huge fan of Not Afraid, Talkin 2 Myself, or Almost Famous, but they're not bad songs by any means...and I get what he's doing in all 3. On the other hand, So Bad, Untitled, Cold Wind Blows, 25-L, No Love, and others are great.

I mean its 3 songs, they might grow on me, and I'm still getting the CD. I was a big Relapse fan and there are still 3 songs I skip outright on that CD no matter what, maybe 4 depending on what I feel like listening to. 12/16 bangers is still good though. 14/17 on this cd. Most people can't put out an album with more than 3-4 songs worth listening to. Its a really good CD.
