shopping for a 4.7 motor. these are my choices a)120k used long block in south carolina for $750
b) bottom end from lkq(unknown mileage) + used heads for 100$ + machining cost
both motors would get a complete set of all new gaskets before being dropped in . given the choices and my lack of funds which would you guys recommend? 6/8/2010 4:09:04 PM |

I would go with B and rebuild the bottom end and heads.
that is assuming it wouldnt end up much more than 750$ 6/8/2010 7:41:30 PM |

rebuild costs depend highly on what exactly you are replacing and the amount of machine work necessary 6/8/2010 9:34:37 PM |

think i'm gonna go with the used motor mainly bc i'm lazy and i know i'd never get around to doing everything needed to get the head block combo running 6/9/2010 6:40:40 PM |
