Whoops, didn't even see it in the other thread.

Apparently it'll be advertised on the scoreboard during the game tomorrow, so presumably it'll be live sometime around then.

She penned an article in the Technician today, outlining the problems with student ticketing, why it sucks, how she plans on changing it, and the things they will be doing in the interim to change things.

Debbie Yow 2012.

Click on the picture of the technician in the right column. One of the last pages has it.

Impressive.

I cant believe the temporary bleachers cost $200,000. I wonder if that includes the sales of the additional tickets that the AD is giving to the students instead of selling to the public.

I just sent a request in to Debbie to serve on that committee. I have no faith in some of the organizations she listed as wanting representatives from in that column.

it should be fairly obvious the those in the media who thought that Fowler being called out was wrong how it is supposed to be done now.

Ran into Debbie Yow exiting the stadium after FSU... I cheered with her happily for 20 seconds while we moved through the herds and got an encouraging squeeze on my shoulder before she ducked out to the Murphy Center. She is definitely one of us - I can see that she celebrates like a true state fan along with the rest of us!

she just gave a great interview

talked about how we shouldnt be playing ECU and that 2015 is the first chance she will get to fix THAT problem (IIRC)

said it obviously mattered more to ECU than to NCSU and how its a real no win situation for us.

she talked about the traffic problems leaving the stadium after the game and that is going to be an issue for her.

GREAT INTERVIEW with DG

^I'm so used to fowler sucking, that I can hardly believe that our AD said something like that.

That alone gets her two thumbs up from me.

Honestly it is like she reads TWW, listens to the legit complaints, and then acts on them. +1 for credibility.

No, she talked about how there are two schedule games already (2013 and 2016) and the soonest she would schedule them again after that is 2019, so the issue would not be visited until around 2015.

Also in the interview, they discussed how people were so impressed with her for addressing all of these smaller problems. It went unsaid of course, but it pretty much boiled down to people are so used to the last guy responding with "Thanks for the suggestion, Go Pack!" and letting it end there.

I have a suggestion for her, but I think the more people that asked for it, the more likely it might be done. The Red Rally was broadcast on TWC Channel 18 live (this is the NCSU Distance Ed channel). Id like to see this happen for all of the other untelevised games we have. Is that too ridiculous of a request? I guess it fucks with the GoPack All-Access business model, but I cant say I care too much about that.

Talk on 99.9 about the whole Debbie not wanting to play EZU so much. Good or bad for NC State?

Well, she did say ECU has a "psychological advantage" when they play us, which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard honestly. Why not just say, they have more to gain in the series than us & leave it at that.

There is no psychological advantage, line up & play damn football & beat their ass like VT does every year. I'd still rather play ecu than james madison or some damn team like that.

Stolen from PackPride à la gunzz:

http://www.news-record.com/content/2011/01/06/article/orange_bowl_criticized_over_sports_junket

Quote :
"Commissioner John Swofford and Assistant Commissioner Michael Kelly, who oversees football operations, accepted the June trip, a league spokesman confirmed. Wake Forest Athletics Director Ron Wellman confirmed that he traveled. Athletics directors Kevin White of Duke and Lee Fowler, who was in his final weeks at N.C. State, also were on the guest list.

The Orange Bowl Committee directs the Orange Bowl football game as a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. The committee hosted an “all-inclusive, three-night, four-day complimentary getaway,” billed as the “Summer Splash,” aboard Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship Majesty of the Seas in June.

The Orange Bowl Committee and the ACC said the event was a business trip.

A political action committee wanting to see the Bowl Championship Series replaced with a playoff system calls it a “junket” violating IRS rules governing nonprofits."

Quote :
"N.C. State’s Debbie Yow, who was still at Maryland just before succeeding Fowler, declined her invitation.

“I have never attended,” Yow wrote in an e-mail. “Not my thing. Could be seen as a conflict of interest. Maybe it is. Maybe not. But, I have always declined.”"
