Anyone ever used this thing:
http://www.appcelerator.com

No I'm not looking to apply it to the iPhone but was looking at this to possibly deploy a simple no frills desktop app.

looked at it, read a lot about it, haven't used it. I'm not going to bother until their Blackberry section comes out of BETA. When it does it will probably be the cornerstone of our development here

I've used it

it's not documented well

it irritated me

you still cant really do iphone shit with it

seriously if you're doing a desktop app i'd suggest Flex Builder (Adobe's product) or FlashDevelop (free)

don't bother wasting your time with this shit

^didn't apple kill off flex builder?

Something about the compile time translation got their panties in a wad.

Nah, it's very much still a part of the CS collection.

Looks like they renamed it "Flash Builder," but it's still the same thing.

^^You are thinking about their Flash to iPhone compiler crap. Yeah, Apple did ban that or something in the newest OS. He is referring to Flex Builder, the IDE that is built on top of Eclipse that lets you build Flex web apps or Air desktop apps. From the little bit I have used it, it seems very intuitive and easy to use.
