The banter is a bit stiff and the house the contestants bunk in looks more like it belongs on The Bachelorette, but the shooting is worth it. (The house should be more like barracks or a ranch or something.)

Kelly was def very impressive, he was a pure rifle shooter and he beat everyone at their own specialty. I think if he didn't go first in that challenge that he lost, he woulda been safe. That was my only contention about the show, a lot of challenges put the first person at a disadvatage... everyone else could derive a better strategy after watching the first person.

Everyone ended up getting eliminated in their specialty except for Kelly. These guys were choke artists. And the two final guys squeaked by each round by laying low and only fucking up slightly less than everyone else. Ian and Chris (the two finalists) were also the two where were involved in the scheming with Adam (huge faggot), but were pussies about it to Blake's and JJ's face.

I wasn't impressed with anyone's skills really. Even though he was a bit of a douche at times, Kelly was probably the best pure shooter. He adapted to unfamiliar weapons quickly and took instruction from the professionals on set well. Unlike others like Brad who just bitched about everything. And Kelly eliminated 4 players when he had no business being in the elimination challenge in the first place. They voted him in not based on his displayed skill, but on an assumed notion that he was inexperienced because of his young age.

I was hoping JJ won, but he really shit the bed on the final day.

Are you serious?

Dude, this guy had to go one on one UNFAIRLY in elimination more than any other person. The ONLY reason he wasnt in the final four is because he was the first to run the course, and didnt have the luxury of knowing if it was a good move to put a few more bullets in the gun. he was flat out clutch in the vast majority of the competitions.

If anything, the guy should get another shot in another season.

I very much agree with this.

I hate to break it to you, but Top Shot is not a TV show purely about shooting skill. It's also about strategy, like many other reality shows.

If you want to take the position that the show should be purely about shooting skill and competition, then I would agree. But that's not what it is now--and Kelly lost fairly under the existing rules at the time.

That's the entire crux of how you go from a medeocre show to a great following.

If kelly would have shown up at the finale - NOW we have a show worth a crap. NO ONE was cheering for the guys in the final. They never gave them any air time on the show so we barely knew who they were. Kelly and his frustration was well developed - with his departure went my desire to watch. I just looked up the winner online.

Also, for what it's worth, the finale drew less viewers than Ice Road Truckers

^^^ and ^^ The show could definitely be improved. I, too, kind of drifted away toward the end--that's why I was late posting about the winner. I just watched it on demand.

And I agree that the rules and flow of the show should be changed. I'm just saying that the rules at the time were the rules at the time--you don't get to change the rules for a given competition because you don't like the outcome.

Kind of what ^ is saying, I think.

But even in the OP, I posted that the show needed some improvement:

My favorites to win were:

JJ - The dude showed up to every challenge, except the last one. LOL ... I kind of felt bad for him.
Kelly - I think everyone underestimated him because he was young. But, from the first few shows I was hoping he made it all the way.

Next show, they should do a team paintball match. I'd like to see how the sport shooters do against military experienced shooters.

Sounds cool. However (this is going to piss off paintball people), while skill is definitely involved, in every match I have ever watched on TV, its like the people are banking more on shooting as many paintballs in the general direction of their opponent as opposed to taking less more carefully aimed shots. Seems less about accuracy, and more about laying out a ton of fire and getting lucky, possibly because paintballs wiz all over the place anyway (cant be that accurate).
