Taken by the Entertainment Software Association (which represents a large handful of major gaming companies) in 2009. It says gamers are 60/40 male/female and average age is 35, which lines up almost exactly with the data in the original post. It looks like the OP might even be the ESA's 2010 data, but that's just wild speculation on my part.

I call BS on the 32 age average. With that that 26% is over 50. Try maybe 10%. If even that.

Ill believe the 65% households and the 2/5 are females.

Also dont think Wii is that big with guys. Id think 360 has a bit more. I will believe the women stat with the Wii however.

There are also a lot of things like smartphone apps which are often classified as video games. Hell, the ESA would probably consider Farmville a form of PC gaming if the people that made it (Zynga) were ESA members.
