Just got my surround sound hooked up today in my home theater.

Watched Saving Private Ryan (awesome) and Terminator 2 (not as awesome sounding but still great)


Any other suggestions?

People will name all sorts of movies, but the truth is any good action flick with car chase scenes, shootouts, and lots of explosions will sound great

Pick a movie that you like...garbage is still garbage, even in 7.1 Dolby Digital

Assault on Precient 13 has some really nice rain effects in surround sound, though is a pretty lousy movie.

The Perfect Storm had some very nice surround sound back in the day as well.

Surrogates has a cool effect in it where he shoots a sonic gun thing and you hear the wave ripple around you.

So far the best sounding ones I have tried in the last 2 days have been:

Private Ryan
Dark Knight
Matrix


Terminator 2 blu ray didnt impress me as much as I thought it would
War of the worlds wasnt bad either but wasn't great.

Tomorrow Ill probably rent that Master and Commander movie.

MOVIES WITH PLANES AND CARS

but seriously, it will be cool with the planes zooming overhead. That was one of my favorite effects with my surround sound. I'll have to Add to My Topics for when I get my system set up again.
