I got the same virus on two computer. It's one of those fake virus protection viruses. After I got it cleaned out I found that IE no longer works, however firefox works fine. I figured some remnants of the virus were still remaining, however when I downloaded google chrome for the first time it too fails to load webpages. Firefox is still working fine. Any ideas?

Check your proxy settings they usually change those something like tools, internet options, connections, LAN Settings, and take it off trying to use a proxy.

I am dealing with the same thing on one of the work computers. Got rid of the virus, proxy is unchecked, but I still can't get IE to open. Google Chrome and Firefox open fine. But if I click on IE, nothing happens.

I got sick of fucking with it. We have a copy of Vista Business with the key so I just did a full reinstall. Seems to be working fabulous now.
