so pumped for this season!

that trailer gave me goosebumps all the way to my scalp!

i like that quinn is getting suspicious of dexter, reminds me of the days of doaks

and i also like that there seems to be some sniffing around the arthur mitchell & kyle miller story & possibly linking dexter up. they kept highlighting conscious & guilt so i'll be excited to see how that plays out

and by "it was me" he prob meant that it was his fault that he wasnt there to protect her bc later in the trailer quinn repeats what he said which means no one took what dexter said literally

I have just recently gotten into the series spent the past two weeks watching season 1&2 on netflix. Had to go out and buy season 3 because I like it so much. Ready for season 4 to come out. Can't beleive I am this late getting into the show.

Boy oh boy it looks like the best show on tv is going to be back with a vengeance! I don't know how people can say this looks it's going to be the best season yet, because I think seasons 1, 2, and 4 set the bar (and reset, and reset again) remarkably high.

Quinn was without a doubt my least favorite character of season 4, mostly cause I didn't think his acting was that great and until the last episode he didn't really have a place in the show. Now that I know he's reprising Doakes' role, I feel a lot better about where this season is headed. I loved the cat and mouse game that Doakes and Dexter played those first two seasons. So that leaves the big question, can Quinn succeed where Doakes could not?

Pretty good first episode. The sneak peak for this season looks great as well. The way they display the victims of this years serial murderer reminds me a lot of the first season. The Kyle Butler thing could get real interesting as well with Trinity's son getting involved.

first episode was good, albeit kind of depressing and intense. I do find it hard to believe that Dexter beat the shit out of that guy in the bathroom and was able to dispose of him (I assume) without anyone noticing. Plus there was his blood all over the place in the bathroom, and I assume he had his car or boat parked nearby. Pretty big loose end, but Dexter seemed unworried about it.

Every season I pray for Laguerta to die somehow like she did in the first book. I hate her character on the show for some reason.

Dexter already did that shit with Dokes. I doubt they'll repeat the same idea with Quinn.

And the scene when Dexter was sitting there with the Disney hat on while trying to explain to the kids that Rita was dead had me rolling.

well in the first season she was kind of introduced as incompetent and someone that didn't deserve her position at all...not really a person to like, so that feeling is understandable, but they've evolved the character a lot since then though

yeah, i liked that a lot, sometimes over the course of the series i feel that they portray him too easy to relate with, that scene did an excellent job of showing how fucked up/different he really is.

overall i thought it was a great episode.

I really like this show, but the season premiere was missing something for me... I am not at all sure what it was, but I just felt like I had missed something when the credits began to roll

this show makes me so nervous. i'm not sure why because i'm generally not like that with other shows...but i'll actually fast forward through some parts if i'm watching by myself. the suspense gets to be too much i guess. i still watch it though

So how did Dexter or the detectives know Rita died from a one-inch cut to her femoral artery?

She was still in blood water up to her neck. That has to seem way more suspicious than even his behavior and words. Surely nothing that obvious is in there for no reason.

It wasn't the greatest of episodes, that's for sure.

One thing that bugged me, how did Dexter end up getting an employee username and password for the truck rental company? His voiceover said that they wouldn't have much of a reason for great security or something like that, but that didn't explain where the username and password came from. I would have been ok with that if they just showed him putting in abc/123, or even if they showed him putting in a username of MiamiPD like it was a special MPD account or something lame like that. But just pulling a random username and password out of thin air bugged me. Not the biggest deal in the world, but it could have easily been addressed.

i won't say anything bugs me, but something i've noticed is that the kids are taking their mom's death in stride a little too easily, you'd think there would be more depression (with Cody especially), but he's at like a 6th month level of acceptance... except for that "i miss her" bawling at the bathtub
