the good: Boardwalk Empire, Terriers

could be good: The Event, No Ordinary Family, Hawaii 5-0

the bad: new sitcoms on CBS (especially Bleep My Dad Says and Mike & Molly), Outsourced, lawyer show with Jerry O'Connell and Jim Belushi

some returning shows I'm really looking forward to: Community, Parks and Rec, IASIP, Sons of Anarchy, Eastbound & Down, Bored to Death

^pretty much exactly that.

I haven't had much to enjoy from FOX lately but I also have renewed interest Human Target and their new series Lonestar.

House, The Office, Law and Order SVU and the new Law and Order LA (I'm still a bit on edge, but I will give it a try). I will finish up watching V online and if I like what I see, I may watch next season.

BTT, all the big premieres are next week

also, Sepinwall had this to saw about Outsourced:
Quote :
"As Ricky Gervais would say, it's funny because it's racist! Or, if not racist, then incredibly lazy in the way 90% of the punchlines depend on the Indian accents. For this, NBC held back "Parks and Rec"? "

Any thoughts on what the worst new show will be?

Feces My Dad Says
Outsourced
The Event
Mike & Molly
Raising Hope

could all be pretty terrible

^probably that, in that exact order.

though part of me is holding out a sliver of hope for The Event.

I may throw Outlaw starring Jimmy Smits into The Event's spot.

The Event could be good, but I've been burned by that type of show too many times, and there's too much other good stuff on for me to give it a chance

Yeah I'm definitely gonna watch Lone Star.

What all is on Tuesdays besides Sons of Anarchy?

Sunday is the real problem night for me with Boardwalk Empire, Eastbound & Down, Bored To Death, Rubicon and Mad Men. Not to mention the Sunday night football game.

actually i take that back..It looks like i read the premiere calendar wrong.

I dont think i'll have very many DVR conflicts at all this fall. The Event and Lonestar are both Monday at 9 and then Castle and Hawaii 5-0 are at 10.

I will probably check out Detroit 187 as i usually give all cop shows a chance for an episode or two, but it's Tuesday at 10 which means it's already in a hole behind Sons of Anarchy and Parenthood.

^^Yes Sunday night is going to be real tough, especially while AMC is still in season. I have been rewatching Bored to Death season 1 on the 101 and forgot how much i actually enjoyed that little show. Definitely looking forward to HBO's offerings this fall.

I'm thinking about saving a few shows to watch during the dead period of winter or maybe even next summer just so I'm not watching 4 hours of TV each weeknight.

Works for Jeepin. He once gave up guaranteed sex with a solid 9 because Raymond and According to Jim were both DVRing and he had to watch Yes, Dear live or miss it altogether.

I know CBS moved it's big gun The Big Bang Theory to Thursday night to go against Community, but I actually think this may back fire for CBS since it's paired up with Shit My Dad Says and leading in CSI. Of course CBS will have it's ratings by default, but I don't think this will cause any problems for Community what so ever.

Do you plan on checking out Blue Bloods? That's on Friday night, it and Human Target may become DVR stockpile for the winter or boring weekends for me.

^hahahaha, actually all of that happened at 3pm on a thursday >.<

^Blue Bloods is the new ABC police procedural right? I think I'm gonna save the new FNL season, as well as Bored to Death and Fringe for a later date, maybe another show or two as well

I just find it hilarious how he's still getting work despite the fact that the only reason he ever got work in the first place died 28 years ago.

It would be like if Eli was still getting Oreo ads today if Peyton had OD'd in 2003.

I watched Chase. I set it up to record because I'm not used to watching NBC except for law and order.

Thought it was pretty good but will have to see what the other episodes will be like.

Yeah I ended up watching it earlier. I liked it. Looks like they will have a different story line each show kind of like Justified.
