The other Miami topic was 4 years old so I decided to start a new one if that's ok with Mr. Omar
I'm flying into either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami in the middle of December.
Where should I stay? What should I do?
I want to stay near beach and night life since I won't have a car there. 8/7/2010 5:38:39 PM |

Don't use Hotwire to find the cheapest hotel near the beach in Miami. A friend did that for a trip we did several years ago and we ended up in the biggest shithole of a hotel room imaginable. 8/7/2010 7:02:48 PM |

In Ft Lauderdale, go to Tarpon, Fat cats, Dicey's, YOLO bar wise.
Las Olas rd in FT Lauderdale has some freakin amazing restaurants. Sushi Rock on Las Olas is awesome if you like rock & roll themed sushi rolls; the Sublime roll is freakin yum.
Las Olas beach is where you want to go too... lots of bars/restaurants, fun stuff going on.
In Miami, hit up Lost Weekend, Grass...there are lots of clubs obviously, but I dont go there too often.
Miami Zoo is pretty sweet. 8/7/2010 7:15:01 PM |

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in hollywood. It's a hotel complex with several bars and an outside shopping area. It has a full casino with hundreds of slot machine type games as well as a section dedicated to all table games including blackjack, poker, and craps. It's legal as it is located on a Seminole indian reservation and is owned and run by them. 8/7/2010 11:24:30 PM |

^^hey, question about that. are the table games with real cards, or are they the fake-ass table games like they have in Cherokee? (where each player has a screen with their cards...its basically video blackjack, with a real life dealer who just pushes a button instead of you). 8/8/2010 3:00:26 PM |

The only table games at the Hard Rock are Poker, Blackjack and maybe Baccarat. And a shit-ton of slot machines. There's no dice games and no free alcohol when you're gambling. But the rooms are fairly inexpensive and the pool is awesome. It's no Vegas or Atlantic City, but it will do the job if you've got the itch for a night. 8/12/2010 11:28:11 PM |
