My boys kicked ass at the Sampson County Football Jamboree tonight.

Anyone's team going to do well this year or have any prospects?

start off the season, as usual, against Staunton River on 8/28. beat them in Moneta last year 26-0.

Josh Woodrum just signed to play at Liberty. I was hoping he'd get some looks from ACC schools. I really think he's gonna have a huge year. And of course we all know about Mike Cole, who just committed to Virginia Tech over Penn State and Maryland

I really hope the O-Line got better since last year. IMO that was the only reason we didn't win the state title

Saw a guy at Olympic kick like a 74 yard punt (~65 in the air) and a 50 something yarder. Had another kick land at the 1 from around 40. And he's only a sophomore, also plays QB (though at this stage is very meh).

Very impressed.

Independence is not what they used to be...lost 26-6 to Mallard Creek. My old team (East Lincoln)begins next week. They tied at a jamboree tonight lol.

My high school team is going to suck this year. We went to the state playoffs last year but our QB graduated and now he's playing for Duke (Anthony Boone).

We were open this week. I just see that we are playing the Raleigh Titans this year. FYI they are a team made up of home schoolers and kids from schools without football teams.

garner dropped their 2nd straight game last night. Lost to Broughton 21-20.
They were leading 20-14 and Broughton connected on a 76 yard pass late in the 4th for a TD.

Just aren't the same as they used to be.

well millbrook's blistering start trailed off during conference season...lost to wfr in the football playoffs. apparently their star rb has been offered by alabama.

same can be said about the soccer team. i think they lost to green hope in the playoffs...again

it will be interesting to see if durham jordan's soccer team takes a national championship after their undefeated season.

I graduated from Southeast but I'm not sure it matters b/c the winner gets Vad Lee and Hillside next. Hillside has won by 46, 40 and 20 points in their 3 playoff games thus far.

Te field at NB has never been great, but for the rain to overflow the surrounding means either it was a ridiculous amount of rain or they were really worried about wind and lightning.

(although to be fair it's been over a decade since I was there, they might have made some foolish alteration to the field)

probably, since I think Weddington was established in what the late 90s/early 2000s? That was towards the end of the period they were really bad for some reason.

Catholic was really good in the 70s and 80s winning a couple of state championships in the 70s and several in the 80s iirc. Then they sucked from about 1990-2002 (of course the entire time I went there (99-2003) they were pretty bad). Since then I think they have only lost like 10 games and won 3 state championships.
