Post lyrics, or a youtube video, or embed the music (not on auto play plz), or just the song name... any kind of music that makes a political point or would be played at a political rally or has been used in a political context at any point in history.

Quote :
"Today, the song is probably best remembered as the campaign song for Franklin Delano Roosevelt's (FDR) successful 1932 Presidential campaign. Since FDR's use of the song, it has come to be recognized as the unofficial theme of the Democratic Party. The lyrics suggest optimism and buoyancy"

pretty much anything by Rage Against the Machine counts, but a rather blatant one is the last song from the 1999 album The Battle of Los Angeles, "War Within a Breath"
Quote :
"Every official that comes in
Cripples us, leaves us maimed
Silent and tamed
And with our flesh and bones
He builds his homes

Southern fist
Rise through tha jungle mist
Clenched to smash power so cancerous
A black flag and a red star
A rising sun loomin' over Los Angeles
Cause for Raza livin in La La
Is like Gaza on to tha dawn of Intifada
Reach for tha lessons tha masked pass on
And seize tha metropolis
It's you that it's built on

Everything can change on a new years day(x3)
And everything changed on a new years day, c'mon

War within a breath
It's land or death (these two lines x3)
War within a breath
It's land!

Their existence is a crime
Their seat their robe their tie
Their land deeds
Their hired guns
They're tha crime

Shots heard underground round tha rapture
Tha world's eye captured
At last in a Mexican pasture
Tha masked screaming land or death
Within a breath
A war from tha depth of time
Who shot four puppet governors in a line
Who shook all tha world bankers
Who think they can rhyme
Shot tha landlords who knew it was mine
Yes, it's a war from tha depth of time

Everything can change on a new years day (x3)
And everything can change on a new years day, c'mon

Oh, Hear the masked scream
War within a breath
It's land or death
[more lyrics like this]"

Quote :
"Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man
His enemies say he's on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully he just lives to survive
He's criticized and condemned for being alive
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land
He's wandered the earth an exiled man
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn
He's always on trial for just being born
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized
Old women condemned him, said he could apologize
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad
The bombs were meant for him. He was supposed to feel bad
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, the chances are against it, and the odds are slim
That he'll live by the rules that the world makes for him
'Cause there's a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a licence to kill him is given out to every maniac
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he got no allies to really speak of
What he gets he must pay for, he don't get it out of love
He buys obsolete weapons and he won't be denied
But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he's surrounded by pacifists who all want peace
They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease
Now, they wouldn't hurt a fly. To hurt one they would weep
They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep
He's the neighborhood bully.
Every empire that's enslaved him is gone
Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon
He's made a garden of paradise in the desert sand
In bed with nobody, under no one's command
He's the neighborhood bully.

Now his holiest books have been trampled upon
No contract that he signed was worth that what it was written on
He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth
Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health
He's the neighborhood bully.

What's anybody indebted to him for ?
Nothing, they say. He just likes to cause war
Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed
They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed
He's the neighborhood bully.

What has he done to wear so many scars ?
Does he change the course of rivers ? Does he pollute the moon and stars ?
Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill
Running out the clock, time standing still
Neighborhood bully."

Quote :
"It's been a long time
Now it's time to get your bubble burst
Things are bad enough in this world
Why do you have to make them worse?
Day after day, you just gotta get it

So sick and tired of your bitching and complaining
So long you've been oppressed while others lives are
gaining
Want reparations, you're needy and deserving
Can't understand why some are served while you're
doing the serving
Anything but responsibility

Where's my slice?
I want more than equal rights
I want everything for free!

You waste your time concerned with what others are
earning
You want a revolution to start the tables turning
A demonstration to make a better nation
We'll spend the day protesting all the problems that
we're facing
Anything but face reality
Where's my slice...

Your brilliant theory
how the world owes you a living
You'll take away from others
the things they should be giving
They own the pie and you want your share
Whoever told you life was fair?
You were dealt your hand - now play it

Where's my slice..."

NOFX - Cheese/Where's My Slice - Ribbed

Good song from a great album.

Quote :
"Lily Allen gets political in LA

Lily Allen got political at her sold-out show at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles last night (April 2), giving the middle finger to former US President George W Bush.

The sassy singer, dressed in silver-sequined shorts and a black bustier, spoke out against Bush when introducing her song 'F**k You'.

"This song is about George W Bush, who by the way I'm quite happy isn't president anymore," she said before launching into the tune, which got nearly the entire audience holding their middle fingers in the air during the chorus, "Fuck you very much."

Allen and the crowd were bathed in red, white and blue lights during the flashy number. "

For some reason the Soviet National Anthem is always on my mind when I wake in the morning. It's so catchy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yDrtNEr_5M

In case you want to sing-along...I know I do!

1.
Soyuz nerushimy respublik svobodnykh
Splotila naveki velikaya Rus'!
Da zdravstvuyet sozdanny voley narodov
Yediny, moguchy Sovetsky Soyuz!

PRIPEV:

Slav'sya, Otechestvo nashe svobodnoye,
Druzhby narodov nadyozhny oplot!
Partiya Lenina — sila narodnaya
Nas k torzhestvu kommunizma vedyot!

2.
Skvoz' grozy siyalo nam solntse svobody,
I Lenin veliky nam put' ozaril,
Na pravoye delo on podnyal narody,
Na trud i na podvigi nas vdokhnovil!

PRIPEV

3.
V pobede bessmertnykh idey kommunizma
My vidim gryadushcheye nashey strany,
I krasnomu znameni slavnoy otchizny
My budem vsegda bezzavetno verny!

PRIPEV

English translation:
1.

An unbreakable union of free republics,
Great Russia has united forever!
Long live the created-by-the-will-of-the-peoples,
The united, the mighty Soviet Union.

CHORUS

Glory to our free Fatherland,
The stronghold of the friendship of the peoples!
The Party of Lenin is the power of the people,
It leads us to the triumph of Communism.

2.
Through storms the sun of freedom shone to us,
And the great Lenin lighted us the way.
He raised peoples to the right cause,
He inspired us to labor and to acts of heroism.

CHORUS

3.
In the victory of the immortal ideas of Communism
We see the future of our country,
And to the Red banner of our glorious Fatherland
We shall always be selflessly true.

CHORUS

Chords! http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/m/misc_traditional/national_anthem_of_the_ussr_tab.htm

Sure beats the hell out of our say can you see bullshit. They have the Red Army Choir, we have Rossane Barr.
