Some fucker swerved into my lane and I had to swerve into a bush to avoid hitting him (looking back I probably should have just let him hit me but what's done is done)
Anyway, the bush scraped up my entire drivers side pretty good and knocked off the drivers side rear view mirror... I was not able to recover the mirror. Should I report this to my insurance or what? Will it make my rates go up? 8/21/2010 1:49:21 PM |

by the time i got back on the road he was too far away to read the plate number. i just went to see if i could find the rearview but i couldn't. (this happened after dark and i didn't want to search when i couldn't see shit)
I'm guessing i'll have to get a new one at a junkyard somewhere... who can I pay to attach it? 8/21/2010 3:55:18 PM |

You could try the "pull it yourself" junk yard on Hwy 70. I think its called LKG or something (just take 70 out of garner towards clayton and its on your right. costs 5$ to get inside and the mirror should be pretty cheap compared to other junk yards. The good thing here is that you take the mirror off yourself(which shouldnt be too hard) so then you know how to change it...and if you cant figure it out or mess it up just walk out and youve lost 5$. You need to bring your own tools which shouldnt be much more than a screw driver, possibly some hex wrenches, and a putty knife to get to the clips that most likely hold it in. You also might want to read up on how to check VIN #'s for your car so you know what model car you have, what you are looking for, and where different VIN stamps are on your model car are. 8/21/2010 7:10:44 PM |

close, but not quite there.
1.) LKQ Raleigh Self Serve Auto Parts, 2928 US 70, Clayton 2.) http://www.lkqselfserve.com/FindaLocation/LKQEasternSelfServeAutoParts/LKQRaleighSelfServeAutoParts/tabid/194/Default.aspx 3.) $2/day to get on the yard (you can leave and return on the same day) 4.) Pay per part; there is a list on the website (looks like your mirror will be $20) 5.) Bring your own tools; however, research online how to remove/replace the part 6.) You mean side view mirror, not rear view mirror. 7.) What year, make, model... LKQ's selection is limited and I was just there. 8.) LKQ self serve won't help you find, remove, etc., so be prepared to do it on your own. 9.) You can also use LKQ Online, though the selection is still limited and it is more expensive than the self serve yards http://www.lkqonline.com/ 10.) I think that's all8/21/2010 7:39:55 PM |
