Figured I would just bring this to everyone's attention...

A student made a facebook event for a student section Pink Out at the NCSU/FSU game in a couple of weeks... There are already 1,941 students that plan to "attend" this event.

While I like the idea... if not executed properly it would definitely look pretty crappy. Personally, I don't plan on going out and buying a pink t-shirt just to wear to this football game. There has been a good bit of controversy surrounding this whole thing on the event's wall.

Just thought I would get the discussion percolating.

i think everyone is pretty aware of breast cancer, half the damn items in the grocery store are pink now

Also, how is it for a good cause? It raises no money unless they sell the pink shirts. Pretty sure everyone knows what breast cancer is at this point. All these (insert color)-outs are getting out of hand. We are red and white. Sorry folks. Not black or pink. Should have gone to a different school if you don't like wearing red. Doesn't matter anyway because all the frat-tastic dbags will be in white button downs and bow ties.

I think this would be a great idea if done in conjunction with a fundraiser for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. But like was said earlier, they would need to give out shirts to make it work.

Thursday night, national tv audience, divisional opponent with potential for huge implications on the ACC title game invitation; from a branding, national consciousness, recruiting standpoint put together the best damn redout ever.

It would've been a cool idea, but unless they handed out pink shirts it wouldn't have worked and even then there would've people who wouldn't have worn a pink shirt for whatever reason. If the Athletics Dept. is already planning something then I don't see what the big deal is. We raise money for Cancer in numerous situations throughout the year and our Athletics Dept. is actually legitimately planning something for the first time in who knows how long.
