So I've ditched TWC except for RR service. My plan is to stream most TV content over the internet through Netflix and to use my bunny ears to receive local HD over the air. So far this has worked out damn well, but now with it being football season I find myself having to go to a buddies house to watch a game if its not on a local channel. So I did some digging into streaming channels like ESPN and ESPNU over the internet and came across some questionable site so wanted you guys input.

What I found were a couple site claim to grant access to 3500 - 4500 channels form all over the world. Check these out...

They do not offer a trial run so I'm not going to just fork over $50 to get screwed. Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't mind paying a subscription fee. I've already looked at ESPN3.com but its not available through TWC. Any help would be appreciated.

I just did this, except not in NC area.... and use the following:

with Comcast I also get:

I think if you subscribe, both NHL & MLB stream their games on their respective websites.

About the only thing I'm missing right now is MNF on ESPN, other than that I've been quite happy.

yea, ok, your links, i guess that's .0001 on your scale since you're actually not paying for the service, even though every broadcast channel explicitly states that they should not be rebroadcast without permission.

Does anyone know if the IP multi-casting used for U-Verse Television would work for the internet at large? They do warn that many switches do not natively handle the multicasting. I'm wondering if it is even possible for a cable network to exist internet only?

On a somewhat related note, my job requires me to travel a lot and I really don't want to miss ACC football/basketball games this season. I'm considering getting a Slingbox but 1) not sure if my crappy RoadRunner upload will be enough for it to not be choppy (SD is fine, don't really care if it's not HD) and 2) want to know if that is the best solution. I am willing to pay for a solution to this but I just want to make sure it's the best solution.

Supposedly orblive does exactly what you're trying to do. I don't have a tuner in my computer, so I can't say how well that works, but I watch live stuff on espn3 on my iPhone sometimes and it works well enough. The biggest problem I have is with my shitty 384k uplink.

I used Orb to stream TV to my iPhone a couple of years ago, it worked pretty damn well, even over 3G.

My roommate and I would go to the Chinese Buffet on Sunday and sit there eating King Crab legs all day while watching the NFL games. They didn't like us very much.
