No scheme is 100% fool proof. There will always be big plays made. Believe it or not the opposing team will sometimes come up with a better play and execute. However....Tenuta left ND to come here. He doesn't suck. He was at ND what..1 maybe 2 years (don't remember) and the defense drastically improved much like ours has. They jumped like 40 or more spots in the end of year defense rankings his first year there. I expect we'll see something similar. Tenuta is highly respected and is a "sought after" coach.

TOB has been trying to hire him for years. He wanted him as DC when he first came here. I'm sure there is a succession plan in the works.

I'll take giving up a big play here and there to see what we've been seeing. Definitely better than what we've had.

Tenuta is a well respected DC. He's high risk/high reward for sure, but GT's defenses were always very good when he was there. ND just didn't have alot of talent on D from what I saw

We created ourselves a difficult situation because if the defense finishes this season much better than last year (pretty much a given already), then we cannot fire Archer and put Tenuta in his place. Alright jackass I looked it up. What I was referring to was the press release announcing his hire that said he helped improve the Irish defense from 96th in '07 to 45th in '08. That would be the 40+ spots I was referring to. If the article was wrong...so be it. Its in the State recruiting thread page 82.
