Anyone have any doubt this will actually cause more deaths than any other form of terrorist attacks we have ever seen?

cyberterrorism seems to be more popular (and easier) as an economic weapon

but it's not unreasonable to think that a massive outage of computer systems, esp. systems that rely on the internet could result in large scale deaths

Yes, I have doubts. It won't cause any more or any less. We'll continue to see deaths by terrorists of all types until evilness ceases to exist.

But honestly, any seriously critical system will should not be linked from outside systems and be available to the "cyberterrorists" ... which is just a name, ultimately they are just terrorists; you don't see us calling them bomb terrorists, flight terrorists, building terrorists, school terrorists, etc.

Um, this is the wrong forum for this conversation, unless you want to discuss the technicalities of how one might protect against computer security breaches.

^^Someone manually hacked that airliner with a USB key or something, it was not hacked over the internet ... it really is no different from cutting the brake lines on a car.

Well of course things like the Iranian nuke system and airline controls aren't connected to the internet...but they are connected to each other. So once something gets on one of those computers, it doesn't matter because it's there. So yes, it was transferred via a USB port just like how the Iranian virus got into their system.

Yes, terrorists are terrorists but like ken said, it's a lot more economical to kill people this way. Logistically it's a million times simpler.
