I don't get the hype.

Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis look like they're just going thru the motions, and Malkovich is playing the same lunatic he always plays.

I'll wait for the DVD.

All I know is that we need to get everyone chanting for DeAndre Daniels since he's a 5-star decommit from Texas that is gonna be there. Should be a packed house, which will bode well for us.

"In the event of a capacity crowd, fans can watch a live stream of the Red Rally on the videoboard at Doak Field at Dail Park (baseball stadium)

Broadcast Information: The Red Rally video stream will be available free of charge on GoPack All-Access and will be shown locally on Time Warner Cable channel 18 servicing the following communities: Apex, Bunn, Cary, Four Oaks, Franklinton, Fuquay - Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Louisburg, Morrisville, Pine Level, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell, Youngsville, and Zebulon, NC"

Yow credibility +1?

by the way, Reynolds has a new production room and (i think) new videoboard, so that should enhance the experience a little bit.

^For those like me that have satellite but still have TWC service for internet, if you have a QAM tuner, channel 18 maps to 1190.1.
Would love to see this trend to continue for other untelevised games, but that is probably wishful thinking.

Would've been cool to have it in the RBC, but I like keeping stuff like this on campus.

And yes, we need to show the same kind of support we did for CJ Leslie last year.

Originally the point of doing it at midnight was that once the clock hit 12:01 the team is officially allowed to practice. (Sorta like how a new movie can't be shown until 12:01am on Friday). Not sure why they don't do that anymore.

Lowe confident about Pack's talent, future
By Jason Jennings

North Carolina State head men's basketball coach Sidney Lowe spoke at the Raleigh Sports Club Wednesday afternoon, touching on a variety of topics just days before his team's Red Rally Friday night.

The rally represents the official beginning of the 2010-2011 basketball season, a year that Lowe hopes will see the Pack play faster than they have in recent seasons.

"Before you even ask the question later, because I know you will," Lowe joked, "yes, we will speed up the tempo."

The reason Lowe plans to pick up the pace: the Wolfpack's highly-touted and uber-talented incoming freshman class.

"Before they leave here, they're going to do something special," Lowe stated with confidence, "and I haven't said that about any of our teams."

Lowe said State was able to sign top frontcourt recruit, and Holly Springs native, C.J. Leslie, despite his early de-committment from the school, because his staff and the Pack's fans continued to recruit him hard.

"I'm sure many of you ran across him at games or wherever. Thank you. Thank you," an appreciative Lowe told the crowd. "When he came back, he just talked about when he was out and about at games where Wolfpack fans kept saying, 'you got to come back. We want you there.'"

Another reason for Leslie's eventual enrollment at State was the presence of close friend, and fellow five-star recruit, lead guard Ryan Harrow.

"We haven't had a point guard with his ability to handle the basketball and as clever as he is with the ball since 1983," Lowe joked referring to himself.

With an under .500 record in conference play since his arrival on the sidelines, Lowe needs an immediate impact from the freshmen. Despite several inspiring wins, including a victory over eventual national champion Duke last season, the fifth-year head coach has yet to qualify for an NCAA tournament.

Now, he has a new boss in athletic director Debbie Yow.

"She's got a vision. She's strong with her vision now," Lowe said with a wry smile. "You will know her vision. If she's thinking it, you're going to get it.""

"Wolfpack pumps up Lowe

BY J.P. GIGLIO - staff writer

RALEIGH -- Sidney Lowe says that he is excited about N.C. State's basketball season. Every coach says that in October but the way Lowe talked about the Wolfpack on Wednesday at the Raleigh Sports Club, you get the sense that he means it.

Lowe, who is entering his fifth season at his alma mater, talked about his returning veterans, turning up the tempo and the ACC race on Wednesday. He also hit on every State fan's favorite topic -- the freshmen class of C.J. Leslie, Ryan Harrow and Lorenzo Brown.

"I know everyone is excited about our young guys, but they're freshmen and they're going to make mistakes," Lowe said.

Lowe is trying to temper the enthusiasm for one of the country's top-rated recruiting classes and alleviate some of the pressure on the trio but admitted they are a "special" group. He said he has been especially impressed with the ability of Harrow and Brown to create shots.

Lowe got a laugh out of the lunchtime crowd when joked about Harrow's youthful appearance, saying he "looks like he's about 15 and his voice sounds like he's 12."

Looks can be deceiving, Lowe said, because Harrow, who's listed at 5 feet 11 and 150 pounds, is very talented and "clever with the basketball."

The public can get the first glimpse of the Wolfpack, coming off a 20-16, NIT season, on Friday.

The men's and women's teams will hold their version of Midnight Madness, the Red Rally, at Reynolds Coliseum. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the festivities begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

State's first official practice is Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Lowe said despite the additions of the three freshmen, senior forward Tracy Smith will continue to be the focal point of the offense. Smith led the Pack in scoring (16.5 ppg ) and rebounding ( 7.3) last season.

Smith, who has mostly played center, will play more of a power forward role this season, Lowe said. That leaves a starting spot for either DeShawn Painter or Jordan Vandenberg, who is recovering from offseason ankle surgery.

Lowe also said sophomore forward Richard Howell has played "extremely well" in offseason workouts.

According to gravis, DeAndre Daniels called and canceled his unofficial visit. He will however be making an official visit sometime in the season. He will sign in the Spring.

I don't see anything stopping them from doing it for any other event in Reynolds that they want to televise... they have the box to do it. I'm not saying it's gonna happen but it would be logical for them to do the men's games that are in Reynolds on TWC. Unless they just want to hold out and get people to pay for the stream.
