AHAHAHA! Awesome.
That's one of my fears at work. That or an FPO image will somehow get published ... with the FPO disclaimer.

it's lorem ipsum ... Latin dummy copy/placeholder
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorem_ipsum
Quote : | "In publishing and graphic design, lorem ipsum[p][1][2] is placeholder text (filler text) commonly used to demonstrate the graphic elements of a document or visual presentation, such as font, typography, and layout. The lorem ipsum text is typically a section of a Latin text by Cicero with words altered, added and removed that make it nonsensical in meaning and not proper Latin.[1][2] A close English translation of the words lorem ipsum might be "pain itself" (dolorem = pain, grief, misery, suffering; ipsum = itself).
Even though using "lorem ipsum" often arouses curiosity because of its resemblance to classical Latin, it is not intended to have meaning. Where text is visible in a document, people tend to focus on the textual content rather than upon overall presentation, so publishers use lorem ipsum when displaying a typeface or design elements and page layout in order to direct the focus to the publication style and not the meaning of the text.[2]" |

Which reminds me that the other day one of my co-workers referred to it with, "You know when they just use random letters?"
And also of the time a couple months ago when we printed "MONTH 1-14" on the cover of a magazine. Oops. 10/18/2010 4:44:55 PM |

pretty sure an editor would have to sign off for the layout design and a copy editor would have figured out that something wasn't right on that page. Shit, anyone looking at the layout would have caught that. 10/18/2010 6:01:26 PM |

well played.
I'd say just make the whole back page soduko and word puzzles. Better yet, have them on the front page, I usually go directly to that page anyhow, saves me a step. 10/19/2010 6:41:35 PM |

I remember back when I was writing for the sports department the copy editors changed my text to read "Stanford Cardinals." I got a lot of flack for that from the cross country teams. "Hey Todd, what's Stanford's mascot?" "It's the Cardinal." "Then why the hell did you screw it up in your article yesterday?" "Dammit." 10/19/2010 6:46:12 PM |
