Yea, he actually came out really strong, but you can really see that he's only been in MMA for a couple years. He had no ability to keep Cain down early and once he got tagged he had no real defense for it. I'm actually really surprised. That size difference is really hard to overcome, but it was a good fight strategy and smart for Cain to push when he did.

It's strange seeing ESPN have so much coverage of UFC- when did this start? Between that and preview of both guy's training regimens I was pretty excited about this fight till halfway through the first round. They probably should've called it sooner- maybe after Lesnar's face turned into a bloody pulp and spun/stumbled away wildly.

You must be kidding.

I think Brock will be back pretty soon. The best fight of the night to me was Thiago vs Sanchez. Thiago was really impressive early, but just got overpowered in the end.

I don't know what the fuck happened here, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Vince throw a couple million at Brock and Paul E. for WM. With that said, it's hard to see him jobbing to Undertaker after being the heavyweight champion of the biggest shootfighting organization in the world, and I can't see Taker giving up the streak to Brock fucking Lesnar, so maybe it's nothing.

Edit: The more I think about this, the more it makes sense, perhaps even to the point that this is a joint production between WWE and UFC going back for months to put Velasquez in a position to beat Lesnar for the title and be the first Mexican-American heavyweight champ in UFC history, just as Eddie Guerrero beat Lesnar to become the first Mexican-American heavyweight champ in WWE history in 2004. Throw in something "personal" with Undertaker when he and Lesnar are very publicly friends, and the whole thing turns iffy in a hurry.

Vince needs positive publicity and WrestleMania needs its annual big attraction. Brock would like a big check without having to get the shit beat out of him by a guy who's smaller and lighter. EVERYBODY WINS.

^ I hear ya.. Lets also not forget this:

Hulk Hogan fought Andre the Giant on Feb 2, 1988 .. Andre the Giant was considered "massive" for his sport just like Brock Lesner is currently considered very large for UFC(to the point some have suggested making another weight class) .. That match between Hogan and Andre took place wait for it.. at the Detroit Silverdome. Where is UFC 123? It is taking place at the Palace at Auburn Hills where the Detroit Pistons now play, not to far from that historic WM from 1988. I wouldn't be surprised to see a guest appearance by Hogan in the Octagon on Nov. 20th, something that could have been a mere 22 years in the making...

Mock me all you like, but the fact that Vince gave Taker permission to do an interview at UFC 121 says volumes. Also, Vince loves showing people up, and nothing would show Dana up more than stealing his biggest mainstream star.

In reality, Lesnar will probably use this to squeeze a couple million dollars out of Dana, but $5 says Lesnar wrestles for Vince in the next year.

Unlike lafta, I will pay up if I lose.

I thought this fight might be rigged just from the advertising, because they hyped the shit out of a mexican heavyweight fighting for a belt. I'm sure UFC management would love to get a Mexican following. After watching Lesnar dominate early only to act gassed and roll over towards the end of the match, it really made me question what was going on. NCAA Champion wrestlers don't get gassed after 3 minutes.

haha brock didnt dominate any point in that fight

i was rootin for brock and hes one of my faves but come on, cain was in control the whole point even when brock was mashin the gas. He fought well and came out banging and landed some strikes but nothin that cain didnt return at the very least nothin staged brock ran into a more calculating and better fighter

the hype machine was hell of annoying but htey had a very similar hype machine for roger huerta and we alll know how he panned out

the funny part is that during this promotion cain was hyped as possibly being the first mexican HW champ, when ricco rodriguez was right there in the building cornering tito ortiz. Ricco was the first HW mexican champion and they didnt even acknowledge him on screen. LOL

the best fight was Diego Sanchez and Paulo Thiago, Diego was phenomenal

...or is you really hate Tito Ortiz the best fight is hands down Tito v.s. Matt Hammill

those are two fights you need to check out in addition to the main event. Brendan Schaub looked pretty good though, avoid the Shields/Kampmann fight Shields fought gassed for 2 rounds and honestly just looked to survive. I dont think hes getting his title shot for this win he needs to fight at 170 a few more times because he looked horrible.

^He is a great fighter and I love watching him, but I can't help but laugh at his mean mugging and shit he does pre-fight. I can't imagine it scares or intimidates the guys he fights against.

Intimidation is watching brock walk in looking like a damn viking with that beard. I was glad to see him get his ass handed to him though. I couldn't believe it took this long for someone with a big enough skillset and some balls to overcome the size advantage that lesnar has.

i didnt start believin cain was anything more than hype until he took those three bombs from kongo and still beat the fuck out of him

i just honestly thought lesnar would keep him at bay and take him down with solid position

didnt happen that way, cain is complete and not a mental case, no conspiracy here

and besides, there have been interviews with WWE'rs before on the show, they want the pro wrestling crowd yes but they are not in bed with WWE mcmahaon cant control the interviews they do outside of WWE shoots as long as they dont concern WWE business

Sure he can. When Jim Ross did an unauthorized interview at the end of one UFC PPV, the next night he had been completely erased from the opening of Raw.

Rest assured, if a WWE employee does something on a UFC broadcast and isn't embarrassed on Raw the next night, it's because Vince approved the interview.
