They played at The Orange Peel in Asheville last month, on a weekday so that sucked for anyone out of town.

But they just announced today new tour dates and one is Charlotte on Feb 5th (a Saturday). They're playing at Amos' Southend. Presale is today at 11, public is Friday.

Anyone going? (besides me)

I might go; I considered going to the Orange Peel show too. The only thing holding me back from a definite yes is that their latest album was the first album from them that I really did not like the first few listens through. I still am not that big on it after several listens :/ It's ok but probably my least favorite along with Chase This Light. I guess I need to try and give it more time but so far it is my biggest disappointment album of the year. Just seems to be missing that "JEW" feeling and emotion.

I did see them a few years back at Amos' and they played 5 songs off of Clarity though. Needless to say, that show and set was awesome.

I like their LPs in this order:

Clarity
Futures
Bleed American
Static Prevails / Chase This Light / Invented

And I'm just worried that their set will be a bunch of stuff off of Chase This Light and Invented.

That being said, my wife is also a big fan like myself, but she has never seen them so it might be worth it just for that. Plus David Bazan is opening.

Never been to the Orange Peel and these guys will be playing there in late October when my wife and I will be there for our one-year anniversary. $27 worth it to see these guys do their album from 10 years ago and experience the Orange Peel??

Can't say I was a huge fan back in the day, but I remember a couple of their songs and I'm sure I liked them.

I'd say it's worth it if you're a fan and shows at the Orange Peel are worth an extra few dollars as it's a fucking fantastic venue

we have considered going to that show as well. That's actually a solid record, JEW is good live (much better in smaller settings than larger shows too), and the Orange Peel is one of my favorite venues (and Asheville is always fun). We also did Asheville for our one-year.

Yeah I'd definitely go. JEW puts on a good show, and as mentioned the Orange Peel is a great venue.

this must be the first tour I can think of with a band commemorating an album no one gave a shit about it

it would be like Weezer doing a Maladroit tour

It's not a landmark album but I think it's their 2nd best. Bleed American is good but overrated.

the Ritz is the polar opposite of the Orange Peel in every way imaginable

at this point the only way I'd go to a show there would be for free/a heavily discounted ticket

[Edited on July 11, 2014 at 6:26 PM. Reason : and I have some good memories from that joint, but still]

Well, except for location location location. I ain't driving to Asheville because The Orange Peel is better than The Ritz.

That's some bullshit.

[Edited on July 11, 2014 at 9:29 PM. Reason : It would take another Asheville show that weekend to justify that OP>Ritz drive for me]

Looking forward to this show

Also, Futures is probably my 3rd favorite album by them.
