Not sure there has been a thread with such a comprehensive look.

Not sure if this thread will take off since it requires more data entry than most. Might be able to copy & paste from a transcript or old school tool entries if you have them. Worth a shot though... to see how it all fits together. Especially if we start to see multiple paths to the same major, or similar paths to different majors.

I'm not sure how relevant my list will be, because it was at IU, and it's super-heavy on the math; also oddly enough, considering my posting pattern, I have taken only one class about Gender Studies, and that one wasn't even all that relevant to my posts (something about the "male gaze" and "to-be-looked-at-ness").

I'm surprised that simonn took intro. to linear algebra so late

the class is both fun and fundamental

it wasn't in the curriculum for my BS, but the civil engineering department lets you take basically anything you want and get credit for it as a grad student, and like you said it's fundamental. most of it i had already picked up (i'm taking it this semester), but it's nice to formally take the course.

at first I thought that was preposterous, because introductory linear algebra is so easy

then again I also remember that every single core CSCI class at IU could also be taken by grad students in other majors for credit, albeit at a different course number (The first one was C211 for normal undergrads, H211 for undergrads seeking a degree with Honors, and A591 for grad students in other departments)

in civil you can take any CE500+ or a 400+ in any other department as long as your advisor approves it.

intro to linear algebra is ma405. that's all there is to it.
