Less than a week to go, early voting is already underway, so I figured it was a good time to start this thread.

Results website to watch on election day:
http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/NC/22580/35828/en/summary.html

Although we don't know who people are voting for, we actually have some elections results for people who have voted so far in terms of demographics & party affiliation:
ftp://www.app.sboe.state.nc.us/ENRS/absentee11xx02xx2010_Stats.pdf

Quote :
"2010 General Election Absentee Stats for 11/02/2010
updated:10/28/2010"

Keep an eye on that last updated when number in the top left whenever looking at that site.

So far more Dems have voted that Reps, but a higher percentage of the registered Reps have voted than Dems (I expect that is more common for midterms like this) so its hard to make any surefire predictions off that. 586 of the 9,092 Libertarians have voted so far.

Actual election day results will be here soon enough though.

Make that 967, I'm in line with my comrade obama tee shirt over my work clothes.

Based on the hybrid vehicle I saw parked outside I think my vote already got cancelled out though.

Im curious what CNN is basing their declaration of Coons as winner in Delaware on if both candidates have 0% of the vote so far.

^ It takes very little sample size to call a race, especially if the sample matches expected percentages. They become harder to call when a candidate is doing much better than expected in an area. It just takes broad, small samples to make clear victory calls.

FYI, your typical opinion poll for a national issue samples 1000 people. That's a really easy sample size to hit during an election.

Awww the witch lost. I want to call Hannity tomorrow and laugh at him after he swore today that she'd win.

Damn it! The state senate went to social conservative control. Last time they only took to the 2nd day of the session to introduce the anti-marriage for gay couples amendment.

We were the only state in the south without one. Not any more.

We'll probably lose the step towards comprehensive sex ed too since it was unanimously opposed by the GOP.

i associate it more with republicanism, I'm sure there are more secular countries out there with conservatives that actually have moderate religious beliefs, too bad we just have a two party system so you can't separate the two, I did like rand paul's speech

This is more upsetting to me than anything. While many people are uneducated regarding the candidates, these measures were explained right on the ballot. People are voting against the right to do with their own bodies as they please, by a wide margin. We have a long way to go.

its the age demographic and nothing else.

they will never get that passed in the next 10-15 years until the old folks die and stop voting.

Someone pushed the wrong button in Colorado...the vote total in Boulder County was just a minute ago 54,374 Bennett (D), 23,827 Buck (R)...but now FoxNews and 538 now both showing 64,185 Buck and 55,186 Bennett

...now all of the outlets are showing this. No way it is correct, Boulder county is one the biggest Dem strongholds in the state. I wonder how long it will take them to fix it?

Keep in mind this is also a) a midterm election with low turnout and b) an election which is driving hard for conservatives.

While I'd like to see marijuana (and a number of other drugs legalized) this was a bad year to try.

Schumer? What an asshat and I mean that personally. Most people I know who have worked with the guy say he's a raging cock-bag and can't stand him. He is, however, more of a populist and is not politically tone deaf like Pelosi or Reed.
