How is Sprints/Clears 4G network at Carter Finley stadium on a gameday? I am looking to tailgate for homecoming, but would like to view/strean the game on espn3.com since that's the only option for the NC State v. WFU game? My idea is to stream using a Sprint 4G hotspot router or air card....which would work great if the network doesn't become to congested...or is this just a had idea. 11/1/2010 4:32:15 PM |

it's definitely a
thats a big ol mess of people on their phones in a small area. i know i had problems uploading photos to facebook during the last home game on my Evo, so I'm betting your streaming won't work.
my advice: go to the game 11/1/2010 4:40:33 PM |

Ive watched it on 3G, some issues.
That said, I can never sent texts inside the stadium. As ^ said, its a bunch of people in a small area, so the towers are getting overloaded. 11/1/2010 5:11:49 PM |

Is it just me or does battery life suck there? I can usually get all day out of my Evo with normal use, but on a full charge at the FSU game it didnt make it past halftime. 11/1/2010 8:11:20 PM |

I have no problems sending texts on Verizon inside of the stadium but 3G signal sucks ass.
^ Battery life on the Evo is subpar as it is and switching from 1x to EVDO the entire time makes it even worse. 11/1/2010 8:28:13 PM |

There's also a decent chance the game will be blacked out locally. I've had that happen on espn3 before. 11/2/2010 10:00:13 AM |

Before the game my Epic kept dropping the 4g connection. During the game I was able to use my slingbox stream to the phone without a problem. Of course the phone died before the end of the game. 11/2/2010 12:19:00 PM |

^^ that's only when it's on Raycom, i would think.
my key to keeping my battery life during games is just killing the data signal all together. even when it's turned on there's so many people using it, it takes forever/never works. so i just turn it off. 11/2/2010 12:37:22 PM |

I've never had trouble on my blackberry - is this 4G only problem? 11/2/2010 2:14:25 PM |

4G works great last few games (least in the student section). Since almost everyone is on 3G it's slow as crap but 4G on my Evo was plenty fast uploading pictures to fb. It definitely drains the battery though.
Of course depending on where you are tailgating you might be able to get the free Wifi from the Fairgrounds... 11/4/2010 2:09:01 AM |
