It seems with all the dating sites and Facebook there would not be many people setting up or going on blind dates anymore. I only know of 4 friends of mine that have been on blind dates in the past 6 months.
And since I couldn't find a blind date story thread, if you have a good blind date story go ahead and post it 11/2/2010 9:21:21 PM |

In this day and age of the internet and smartphones, there is absolutely no excuse to have to go on an ENTIRELY blind date. At the very least you should be able to swap pics beforehand. 11/2/2010 9:45:51 PM |

I've never been on a blind date, but sam did tell Peter, unknowingly to me, that we were at the Bassment and she wanted to introduce him to her hot single friend. 11/2/2010 10:03:20 PM |

Yea guess I should clarify... I think a blind date can just being set up by a friend just on their judgement like ^ and maybe a quick glance at Facebook 11/2/2010 10:29:43 PM |

I don't remember telling him that (if I told him the same night we were going to the bassment)
must mean I was having a good birthday I do remember pushing you together to dance though... I'm not a very subtle drunk
oh and I went on a blind date once I guess... well, he thought it was a date... and I met him through Facebook (randomly added me freshman year) and his picture was all distorted.. should have been the first sign

As far as blind date in the traditional sense goes, I'd be too scared that the person on the other end of the table was only interested in making a body suit out of my skin 11/3/2010 9:25:07 AM |

I've only been on one blind date and she actually was quite attractive and sane. It didn't work out but now she's a good friend of mine and I've been dating her best friend for over a year. Good times. 11/3/2010 9:48:19 AM |

i went on a blind date once when i was 17. my hair dresser had a brother who was 19 and home for the summer from college. she thought we would get along so she asked if she could pass my number along to him. we went out a few times - we actually got along really well but he went to college a few hours away and i was going to be a senior in high school so it made things difficult. 11/3/2010 9:53:02 AM |

My girlfriend set me up with one of her guy friends. He didn't have a facebook or Myspace. I had no clue what he looked like. We dated seriously for more than two years. That was my first and only completely blind date ... not too bad!
Physically, he wasn't my type. I would have never approached him if I met him randomly in a public setting. He was blond-haired, blue-eyed and a little chunky. (I prefer dark hair, dark eyes and skinnier guys) But he was really nice and we had a great time. His looks grew on me. And dating him definitely made me realize that I had been focusing a bit too heavily on looks.

We lived together for more than a year, but as it turns out, we didn't see eye-to-eye on issues like money, lifestyle and family. His goal in life was to make money and keep up with the Benjamins. We were very split on things like:
What size house do we realistically need? How much money should we be saving? What kind of car should we drive?
I felt he wanted to live too far beyond our means. IMO, material things are nice, but they really don't mean that much. We fought about that constantly. Saving vs. spending. 11/3/2010 10:37:04 AM |

Mine wasn't really a blind date, or even a date proper, in the traditional sense, more a "hey I need a wingman so you're coming to the beach with us and, oh, by the way, I think you might like her" situation. I went along sight unseen (I didn't have a facebook account back in the dark days of 2007).
We've been together for almost 3 and a half years now, outlasting the couple who introduced us in the process. 11/4/2010 12:41:27 AM |
