at this point I'd almost support giving him away to someone like the chargers simply because I want to see him do well but that won't happen obviously

yeah it'll probably be at least two more seasons before we sniff the playoffs again, and he's not getting any younger. might as well try to get something for him as opposed to letting him walk

Richardson wont trade him, he'll make him suffer through the year (and next several years) while playing for the worst team/organization in the nfl

it pains me because he's my favorite player in the nfl and I want see him in the hall of fame, but he'd need more 1000 yard seasons to do that and some success

I guess if he is going to demand it will be at the end of the year

Honestly, I'm surprised that Steve Smith hasn't demanded a trade. His talent is going to waste on a team that averages 165 pass yards per game. That is awful.

Get a second rounder for him, trade him.....his best days are over anyways....his best asset is his speed and he has lost a half a step......

panthers would get, at best, a 4th round pick for him. I think for his career, it would be wise for him to demand a trade. However, this being his home, him knowing hes coming to the end.......i dunno if he wants to leave

concur with those above on age; he isn't getting younger and his biggest asset is his speed; he only has a couple years left. go somewhere where you can get a ring

hate to say it but the Panthers are worthless until 2012 at best
