Tsynkov for differential equations. The class was easy as hell but I didn't learn a damn thing.

Wu for any MAE class. He's one of the worst teachers I've ever had.

i would say Vickery for Hi 275, but actually he isn't that bad once i figured out how to do well on his tests now and he grades too easy which makes up for his lack of teaching skill, the second test i am sure i did a hell of a lot better definitely got an A on
also had a grad student for PS 201 Gov&Pol in freshman year, apparently 15 percent of your final grade was class participation, including attendance and class discussion, and you know that type of grading is very subjective because its hard to keep track of that in a 40 person class, i did both of but still managed to get only 8 out of 15 points so i ended up with a B+ instead of A. i emailed him why, apparently he did not think i participated, then when i said to change my grade because thats wrong, basically just said "f*** off", i think he knew he was wrong, just didn't want to take the time to initiate grade change
had a chinese woman for ST 311 Intro to Statistics...although it was an easy A class especially since I had AP Statistics in High School, just hard to understand her accent, and had no teaching skill becuase it was her first time teaching

other than that most of my classes and teachers have been positive, i've come across at least 5 teachers that curved or bumped up my final grade to the next letter for free at the end of the semester

Jing for Linear Algebra was a bad experience.

Maher for Automata Theory (CSC 333) was even worse.

is stallmann still there? I had him for automata, and I really enjoyed it.

Diff. Eq. I with Jack Silverstein. I've railed against him in previous threads. He was easily the worst professor I had in over 10 years at NCSU.

^^I had Silverstein for Calculus I when I was a freshman and I agree, he was an ass. Luckily Calc I wasn't that difficult so I was able to get through it without much trouble but I couldn't imagine having him for diff eq. I specifically remember him telling us all the time that we "should have learned this in high school" whenever someone asked him a question.

^^ When I took his class, his answers to students' questions would turn into 10 minute speeches about how stupid they were.

i had clark substitute a lecture in physics201 and she was a huge bitch.

she asked us, as first semester freshmen, who all knew what a taylor expansion was, and when no one knew she said "that's insane." and got upset about it.

^I had her for physics 208 (E&M) and liked her, but I could see her rubbing people the wrong way.

Any history with Ronald Sack.

Any bozo can get up and just talk non-stop without engaging the class at all.

Dr. Reynolds for any labs in MSE. He would not cut me any slack on any of my lab reports and never gave anything higher than a C. He'd routinely take points off for shit he claimed wasn't in my reports, even when I pointed directly at them. If I ever see that guy in person again I will punch him in the throat.

Oh yeah, and how could I forget Anwanyu or however the hell it's spelled for CSC440. She read her powerpoint slides verbatim, which were themselves verbatim from the book. She cannot teach worth a damn, I didn't learn one iota of anything, and the starter code she gives out for programming projects is complete shit at best.

I think I had Dr. Clark for PY208... I can't remember if it that was her name or not. I had her for Scale Up physics in Harrelson. I don't know if they do that scale up stuff any more. She brought in a base guitar one time for some demonstration and accidentally hit one of my classmates in the back of the head with it. She didn't even notice. Hahaha.

^^ aww, Dr Reynolds was a nice guy. He just didn't take no shit. But when I quit going to classes he seemed generally worried about me. His lectures were a little boring though.

I liked Dr. Clark as well. I understood what she was teaching. She even helped me out when I had a kidney infection.

I think you mean genuinely. And yeah, Reynolds is cool. That was the only class I ever had with him and he remembered my name/face for like 3 years...and I wasn't even in MSE

Don't get me wrong, he was a nice guy.....in person. I just didn't appreciate him rolling up my lab reports and anally violating me with them without coating them in lube.

I had no choice because it was required for the degree but MEA 412 (Atmospheric Physics) was by far the worst experience I had at NCSU. Prof. Meskhidze was a nightmare. Too many reasons to list here but let's just say I filled up the evaluation with the max characters allowed.

I swear to god this is the only class I took at State that I did not learn even *one* single thing in. Nada.

I passed with a D by just putting random matrices of numbers on the tests and the TA somehow giving me enough partial credit to pass. I could not understand a single thing he tried to convey, and to this day am so glad I did not have to retake that class with him. I would have killed myself trying to deal with that again.

Whoever taught IDS 201 Tarvolki or something. What a fucking waste of brain power.

I personally didn't think Wu was that bad for MAE 315, I found he was really helpful in office hours. At this point, I would gladly take Wu for MAE 435 over Hall for 461 (Aero Controls), who is easily the most unaccessible professor I've had yet.

JJ Brickley's also on the weaker prof list.

Dr. Hall is teaching controls now?? Damn, son, that sucks. I had Dr. Silverberg for controls and he was awesome. I couldn't imagine Dr. Hall teaching it though... he was a pretty solid teacher for senior design but that was mostly hands on stuff, I couldn't picture him doing something that is as theory intensive as controls.
