The 8th annual Homecoming PackHowl Pep Rally and Concert will take place on Harris Field (in front of Witherspoon Student Center) on Friday November, 12th at 7pm! It is a free event to NC State students as well as the general public. It includes a live performance from Augustana, as well as speeches from Head Coach Tom O'Brian, and the football captains. Student performances include Ladies in Red, Fusion Dance Crew, and student hip-hop duo Eddy B. and Tim Gunter. 11/9/2010 3:05:25 PM |

how shitty is our SAB that they continue to bring in awful bands like this? especially when Duke and UNC continue to bring in shit that isn't terrible. over the past few years off the top of my head those schools have had The Roots, Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, Wilco, Of Montreal, Dirty Projectors, Black Joe Lewis, Bon Iver/Megafaun/Sharon Van Etten, and I'm sure there's a bunch more. edit to add: T.I.!
our school is such a fail when it comes to this

Seriously, this is embarassing. How can the SAB be so out of touch?

The Union Activities Board has nothing to do with Homecoming unlike the other schools you mentioned. The Alumni Association and Student Government took over Homecoming a few years ago when the Alumni Association actually had money to spend. The Union Activities Board has already put on two major concerts for 15000 people this year, as well as smaller programs every week. I just want to make sure the proper parties receive their due credit. 11/9/2010 6:09:05 PM |

For your information, UAB advocate, the Alumni Association had the opportunity to have John Legend perform from Ludacris's label first. The Association would not have had to pay anything except production costs. Unfortunately, Reynolds Coliseum was not available for the Packhowl date and John Legend would have had to perform outside on Harris Field (to which he declined). The Alumni Association then presented the offer to UAB with Ludacris instead since UAB's date did not work for John Legend. UAB booked Ludacris with NO PRODUCTION COSTS BECAUSE OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION'S BAD ASS CONNECTION. So UAB should give the credit to the Alumni Association...just sayin. 11/10/2010 12:58:45 AM |

You sir/madam are incorrect. Please consult one of several poorly written technician articles on the subject.
anyway, I'm not here to bash anyone, just wanted to ease concerns about the SAB. Hope the concert goes well.

Way to go for whoever the big shot was that was able to pull AUGUSTANA. Also way to go for scheduling this overtop of the first home basketball game at the RBC Center. Well planned event all around. 11/10/2010 9:56:25 AM |

i could probably think of 200-300 bands off the top of my head that a) are better than Augustana b) people actually give a shit about c) people would actually go see 11/10/2010 10:45:57 AM |

I've never understood how each year the group of students in leadership and decision making positions are, for the most part, among the most completely out of touch people on the campus.
I suppose it's because most of them are engaged in a resume-cramming orgy for law school or some other stupid shit that knows no bounds. NEWSFLASH: Give it up. Law school is 3 shitty, shitty and expensive years followed by virtually no pay off.
The same goes for whatever bullshit masters or doctorate degree you tout to your family and friends that you want to pursue. Some asshat with a M.A. from Miller-Motte college is going to get the job over you, so just cut your losses now.

Hey now, I won't have my name libeled in such ways. I didn't say good, I was neutral, and mostly wondering what the hell happened to them. Probably playing gigs at some strip club in Florida...11/11/2010 1:37:16 PM |

Even if you were neutral you should still be ashamed of yourself. They were dogshit, and should consider themselves lucky that they we ever able to book gigs anywhere but strip clubs.11/11/2010 2:44:05 PM |
