The franchise system I belong to is upgrading from exchange 2007 to 2010. They've let us know that using exchange is much much faster than using the POP method.
I purchased office for my computer specifically so that I could use exchange and found it to bog down my entire system when I connected to the exchange server that home office has running. I've found pop to be much quicker. What are your thoughts? Should exchange be as fast as pop? It's been a complete pain in the ass. Maybe the upgrade will make it worth using? 11/11/2010 9:09:09 AM |

I think it's slow remotely offsite. If the server was in the network, not sure, would assume it to be much faster. 11/11/2010 9:23:33 AM |

I set up my iPod Touch with the gmail exchange server, and it gets email faster (by a few seconds...) than my computers set up as imap . 11/11/2010 11:16:02 PM |

IMAP over SSL is where it's at. Speed, security, multi-direction syncing. 11/11/2010 11:39:05 PM |

when someone with IMAP was reading the emails it was marking them as read on the server. Thus anyone who was linked to account with pop wasn't getting the emails if the imap guy read them first.

Ok...... They've migrated the servers and exchange is not working at all..................
They are also telling us that microsoft is discontinuing support for POP.... Is this true? Really?
