Not legally. But with those two numbers, they could have fake checks made and then forge your signature.

well I don't know much about it, but I think the answer to your OP is no, unless they used the info to setup payments/transfers online. But then there would be a direct link to whatever other account they were submitting a payment/transfer for, and they'd easily be found out. The answer to the question is always yes. You should always make the decision to give that information out knowing that a person with it, could empty your account. Perhaps the person you give it to does not use it themselves but they sell that information if they were in a position to get those numbers from a lot of people. The 3rd party then empties your account in a foreign country, gets a cashiers check for the amount and then closes their account. You'd get your money back from the bank because it was fraudulent but it's still going to be a hassle. 11/13/2010 12:25:56 PM |
