Just finished Assassin's Creed 3. Loved it. Just as good as AC2. Now to go back and get 100% completion...

(also, no surprises on this one; it ends in yet another nail-biting cliffhanger)

Regarding Black Ops... it's just hype and reused FPS gameplay

^FYI, this isn't officially Assassin's Creed 3, more of an expansion to AC2. Assassin's Creed 3 is set to be released later.

I'll get this eventually I guess. I loved the 2nd one.

This one seems less about Desmond/Animus from what I've seen, is that the case?

Yeah, pretty much. It's a continuation of the Ezio storyline in Rome.

Spoiler for the first 30 minutes of the game: Present day Desmond is searching for where Ezio stashed the apple of eden in the past

this couldn't possibly be because of the framerate/lag problems, could it?

I still haven't beat AC1 from 3 years ago. My OCD won't let me buy AC2 and AC:B until I beat them in order.

But I am very intrigued by the online multiplayer. How is it?

Its more intertwined with the animus because it has email that pops up and you have to come out of the story every once in a while

just beat it on 360

Had about 27 hours in the single player I think, was completely awesome.

And I'm clueless about the end, I have no idea where they are going with the plot.

^^ Lucy Stillman is taking on the same patterns as Vidic. The aliens/makers of the pieces of eden are actually trying to end the assassin's and the templar's conflicts by killing them both off. Then I guess they'll have the pieces of eden self destruct, and Desmond will be the last remaining person who knows anything about all of this (kinda like a Luke Skywalker, last jedi sort of thing). You just wait and see.

im thinkin about getting this. Do i need to go back and play Assassins creed 1 and 2 before playing this one? Or is this one a stand alone game where i don't need to?

If you have the time, I would recommend playing through Assassin's Creed 1, but only doing the minimum in order to finish the story. There aren't very many "extras" to it. AC1 is the most repetitive of the games, but it's also the easiest. You can spend your time planning out a kill, or you can just shotgun it and kill all of the guards.

At the very least play through AC2; AC Brotherhood is more like an extension of the AC2 story... a lot of the same characters, a lot of the same stuff going on. There's also a lot of extras for finishing optional dungeons to get armor, and buying artwork to increase the income of your town.

^^ Yeah, that's what kept AC1 from being a really good game imo. AC2 corrected that quite a bit though, and was a considerable leap forward.

I think you're Altaire in the first one (when desmond is in the animus). In AC2, you're Enzio, who lives in a different time period. When ACIII comes out, Desmond most likely will not use Enzio any longer. Like ^ said, Brotherhood is a continuation of Enzio's story after the events of AC2.

^^^ So, if you care about the storyline, definitely play AC2. I'm 50/50 on whether I'd recommend AC1 simply because it's really not a great game due to the repetition. Maybe just read a synopsis. But if you have time to kill... go for it. I still enjoyed it, but AC2 was considerably better and is worth playing imo.

I bought Assassins Creed: Bloodlines for psp the other day. The fighting sucks some guys are 3 hits others are 4 but you never really get hit. Fighting the bosses sucks because you just have to run around and rebuild your health after almost every hit. It sucks compared to the ps3/360 games

Bump for PC release.

So, was this a decent SP game, or was it primarily put out there to introduce MP to the Assassin's Creed series. In other words, if I don't have too may plans for MP is it still worth it?

It's worth it. It advances the plot (especially with Desmond and the codecs), has news mission types, and features some new gadgets.

I picked this game up yesterday. I'm only running around in Sequence 3, but I'm already having a blast. I'm honestly feeling a little bit overwhelmed, considering how much there is to do in this game.

The one thing I seem to really suck at is the execution chaining. I'm following the directions as best as I can, but Ezio won't always kill the next dude in one hit. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's making it pretty difficult to get any decent ranking in the combat trainer sims (I suck at the combat ones anyway, but I already got gold on all the flag-hunt and freerun challenges).

yeah there's too much to do in this game imo

i still love it and am working my way through it but damn...

maybe i'm just actually doing everything in this game unlike in ac2 where i just kept going to the memory starts and not doing all the races and stuff...

just picked this up couple days ago, 30 bucks at best buy now, enjoying it so far

^^i've got some good scores on the kill steak challenges, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, it usually just ends up with me furiously smashing x and trying to aim LS at someone else

is there any point/anything you can do with all the stuff you loot off people such as ivory, wool, silk etc, or do you just sell it to get some more cash?

just beat SP

you use the stuff you collect to qualify for shop quests mostly...if you don't need it for shop quests you want to do, just sell it off.

I never had a problem with chain killing doing this method. If you miss, I don't think the chain restarts unless you get hit or don't do a one hit kill. So, you can just counter-kill to keep going. (It's been a while since I played, so you'll have to correct me if I'm wrong.) You can also chain into a double kill using throwing knives or the gun. I forget how to do that though. If you do it right, Ezio stops midkill to throw a knife/shoot the gun at someone else's face.

^yeah, that was actually what i was talking about, i can get the chain kills, but the thing where he stabs someone and then shoots someone else at same time seems to happen with no rhyme or reason, and i've only done it in the training, maybe its a skill i unlock later in the single player game

^ I want to say you hold X (or whatever the attack button is) and the direction of another attacker once you've started your killing animation. So, let's say you have an attacker to your right. You start tapping X toward him to kill chain into him. As soon as the animation starts, continue holding X and move the joystick toward the next attacker. He should throw some knives out or shoot the gun if you have either equipped.

Again, it's been quite some time since I last played, so I am not 100% sure on this.

I beat the game some time last week, and have been playing through it a second time to catch dialog and other stuff that I might have missed previously.

I've finally gotten decent at execution streaks. I still can't consistently get streaks above 6 or so, but I was at least able to complete the 5 execution-streak challenge in the game, and got gold on all of the virtual training challenges.

This game is the best of them all so far, but some of these 100% synch challenges are extremely frustrating. Has anyone done the Leonardo tank memory? I had a conniption fit every time I had to start over because I couldn't ever seem to not get hit at that very last part.

The ending was (of course) wtf, but it makes me look forward to the next one. According to something I've read, the two symbols that British comic relief guy was talking about coincide during 1800's France, so that's certainly a possibility for where the next game will be set.

I just figured out in sequence 7 that you can send multiple recruits on a mission, after losing at least a half dozen level 6 and 7 recruits to 4 star missions. Doh.

BTW the assassins make the combat even more easymode than it already was. The thing I like least about these games is how it's easier to just fight through 30 dudes than it is to try to be stealthy and sneak in somewhere.
