I find it a bit odd that such an ardent conservative would be so distrustful of big business. Should we also not believe a word business says when they say raising their taxes will lead to less jobs, or do we defer to basic economics in this case? 11/21/2010 9:35:17 AM |

You should never believe anything any business says without suspicion. This goes also for business lobbying in favor of the health-care reform bill, cap'n'trade, card-check, trade barriers, etc., all of which are designed to favor one group of large businesses and suppress competition from (smaller, newer, non-unionized, foreign, etc) competitors.
If you want to tax them, go ahead, they will soon earn exactly the same level of profits. But whatever you do, don't give them what they want, for it is the regulation they themselves favor which is the true job killer.
