You have to keep moving. Don't let yourself get bogged down again. One step at a time, one task at a time. Few people realize that they are one ailment away from their entire life collapsing. You are aware, use this knowledge to keep moving.

Ok, so I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2003 because I was having tremendous pain all over my body, I didn't know why, and I had to take a year off of school. Often times this disorder is linked with type I diabetes, which I also have, and it has a lot to do with misfirings of the nerves causing pressure point all over the body because of a lack of serotonin distribution. Diabetes has everything to do with your immune system and mine was down (diabetes out of whack) and this was the original source of the problem. SSRIs are often prescribed for this because it does act a lot like depression. I went through four different SSRIs to kick start my brain into acting correctly. (Weight gain and also thyroid problems cause these problems as well because the body then functions differently FYI.) After I found the one for me, cymbalta, I was eventually able to get off the medicine and able to exercise and eat healthy, something I was not able to do before because of the pain.

I hope you get some help RachelMarie and to be honest, try different medicines. I went through nortriptyline, amitriptyline, effexor, and just 800 mg ibuprophen. I hope you can figure your's out so you are not so reliant on meds.

I still have pain today and especially in my legs, migraines, and back/neck pain but I can function normally because my serotonin levels are more balanced.
