I definitely want to see this, but I'm a sucker for anything pretentious and British.

THEY ONLY OPENED IN FOUR FUCKING THEATERS

I just don't see it in the coming soon section of Galaxy's website... that should change like yesterday...

REST ASSURED WE SHALL PLAY IT.

Just saw it. Phenomenal movie. I can see it getting a ton of awards. Firth was brilliant, as was Bonham Carter and Rush. Highly recommended.

So here's the deal.

I was kind of of the impression that this was going to be the kind of movie that's good and whatever, but who gives a fuck? Does that make sense? Like The Queen, for instance. Not necessarily because of the monarchy thing, but just because it's a good movie, something that I can recognize as being a good movie, but something that does not move me in any way whatsoever.

To make a long story short: holy fuck. The King's Speech is a phenomenal film. Go see it. For realsies. Don't mistake it for run-of-the-mill Oscar bait. It's the real deal.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is always a Galaxay marathon for me. (usually because my membership runs out each year on the 31st)

This movie was unbelievably good. (Better than True Grit, imo, which was also great)

I Love You Philip Morris was also pretty funny. (not great though)

I've seen four really awesome movies recently, and I will rate them as follows:

1) The King's Speech
2) Black Swan
3) 127 Hours
4) True Grit

Saw this today and thoroughly enjoyed it...I kind of expected it to drag pretty heavily in spots (a lot of historical dramas tend to) but this one really didn't. Colin Firth was fantastic, Helena Bonham Carter gave an admirably restrained performance and Guy Pearce is always good as a womanizer. The repartee between Firth and Geoffrey Rush was just a joy to watch.

Saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great acting, a good sprinkling of humor among the heavier moments, good story...all in all will certainly watch again at some point. I'm curious to know if the real life Prince Albert/King George VII had a similar personality (both with his short temper and his good sense of humor).

Awesome, awesome movie. Did anyone else get all tense right before he'd deliver a speech?

Also, for those of you that saw it at Crossroads...what were all the previews for? I saw 4 previews of movies I want to see but can only remember 3 (the Matt Damon one, the Company Men, and that one with Ed Helms)

I want to see it

Just got word that Technicolor will be taking our R rated print tonight. They delivered the PG-13 version today (we had no choice in the matter, believe me). If you want to see the non-bullshit version of this movie, you're gonna have to do it today.

This could be a dumb question...but since I've never seen a movie re-released with a different rating...will they come out with both DVD options?? My common sense would say that they would come out with the R-version instead of the PG-13 version...or maybe both (like a rated or unrated version...although it would seem weird with this movie considering that usually happens with action flicks or "American Pie" type movies).

Either way...I'm definitely buying this when it comes out...and I want to make sure I hear Colin Firth say "tits" and "fuck". Because that shit was funny.

I got this at the redbox also this weekend, watched it with my parents.

I was expecting this movie to be overdramatic and super full of itself like oscar bait movies often are.

But it wasn't at all, it was well acted, only as dramatic as it needed to be, and actually quite hilarious at times.
